New Year's Eve Dip.

New Year's eve is the PERFECT time to bust out the appetizers...
And boy oh boy do I have the PERFECT dip for you to try!

You can see how we celebrated last year HERE.
Grant's sweet teacher gave me the recipe after I tried it at her mom's house one night and could NOT stop DIPPING into it.

It's a keeper.

Super easy.
Super tasty.
{It has cream cheese AND bacon in could you NOT love it?!}

You can thank me later.

New Year's Eve Dip

2 - 8 oz. packages of cream cheese
12 ounces of shredded Swiss cheese
chopped green onions
1 cup of Mayonnaise
1 package of bacon

Brown your bacon, crumble and set aside.

 Mix all remaining ingredients and spread into an 8 1/2 x 11" pan.

Bake on 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
Add the crumbled bacon and bake for an additional 10 minutes {or until cheese starts to bubble}.

Serve with crackers - we used Ritz, Club and Triscuits.

Sorry for no pics.
Just trust me on this one, please?

This weekend + BIG news.

* The kids played on and on with their Christmas presents.
And on and on.
LOVE when they play contently inside our home.

* Friday night they had a sleepover at my sister's house.
They were on CLOUD 9 with their Foster cousins.

Joe and I took advantage of the evening and went out to dinner HERE.
{Fun fact: I really hate seafood.  BUT.....since Joe always complains that he never gets to eat it, and he LOVES it, I took one for the team and bought him a gift certificate to a seafood restaurant for Christmas.
If that's not TRUE LOVE I don't know WHAT is!?!}

* Afterwards, we went and saw....
Which we both ADORED!
{Besides the fact that the dude sitting next to me was sick with a cold and kept wiping his nose with his hands and then rubbing his hands on his pants to get the boogers off.  Ga-RoSSSS!!!}

Mary Poppins is HANDS DOWN one of my very favorite movies of all time.
This movie did not disappoint!

* Saturday Joe golfed with my dad, while the kids and I
kicked it at home all day.

I cleaned out my pantry and organzied all of the recipes I've printed out from Pinterest the past few years. {It's only been on my to-do list for forever it seems!}

* We got to go and visit Joe's cute sister, her husband and her brand new baby at the hospital on Saturday night.

Welcome to the world Trudy!
{Is she not the cutest little muffin ever? Those cheeks!!!}

* Sunday.....ohhhh Sunday.

And here's where the BIG NEWS comes in....
I got released from my church calling as Young Womens President.

Such mixed emotions about all of this.

I've been serving in that position for going on 3 years now.
I have come to love and adore 'my girls' SO SO much.

Each girl has been such a HUGE part of my life for the past few years.
Their testimonies have strengthened MY testimony.

They will forever be apart of me.....and for THAT...
I am incredibly BLESSED!

I knew though...with serving for that amount of time...that this day would someday come.

Being Young Womens President is A LOT of work.

It consumes MOST {if not ALL} of your extra time.
Mutual, lessons, firesides, Girls Camp, tending to the girls' is CONSTANT.

And while I have LOVED every minute of it.....
I am at peace with this big change in my life right now.
{Even though yes....I sobbed my way through my final Young Women's meeting today.}

Life goes on.
{They've called me to be the primary pianist now which I am giddy about! How could I NOT LOVE doing that?  Gosh, ANYTHING after being Young Womens president should seem like a walk in the park, right?}

My blog WILL go on!
I have gotten so much LOVE and so many sweet comments with ALL of the young womens posts I have done throughout the years.  There are so many good people out there.  I am excited to actually GROW and EXPAND my blog now.  To spend time being MORE creative!!!  I am excited for what I might be able to do now with this little 'ole blog of mine and with all the extra time I'll have on my hands.

And of course, I will still be posting church ideas galore.

And I'll still be PINNING church ideas {as well as other fun ideas} galore as well.
{Follow me on Pinterest HERE.}

My faith is a HUGE part of who I am.
I thank my lucky stars each day for the knowledge of the Gospel that I have.

I look forward to what the future has in store for me now.
I hope you'll enjoy the ride with me!!!

Blessed Indeed!

A family idea for New Year's Dinner + free printables and decor.

I can't believe the New Year is rapidly approaching.
{I don't know about you.....but I always get a little bit of the post-Christmas blues when all of the fun is done and over with.}

The New Year however, is always a FRESH START and a time to make new GOALS and MEMORIES.

Why not start with a FAMILY DINNER based around a motto/theme picked out specifically for YOUR FAMILY for THE NEW YEAR?

We did one at Back to School time but if you missed the boat on that chance....
New Year's is the NEXT BEST time to do one of these.

You can read all about the details HERE.

As far as New Year's decorations and printables go for this little family shin-dig...I've dug some up for you from around the good ole web-o-sphere.

LOVE this cute New Year's banner from DIO Home Improvements

Super in love with these GOLD New Year's printables from The 36th Avenue.

And I'm thinking if you made this gold garland from Trend Hunter
it would be the icing on the cake!

Coombs Family Christmas Day.

Our Christmas morning began at 6:30 AM when the kids came pouncing into our room.
Per tradition, no one is allowed downstairs to see what Santa brought, until everyone is UP and does it TOGETHER.

Santa, indeed did come!
Favorites included: the Xbox 360, NFL jerseys, a doll house, baby buggy and the highly anticipated.....
Robot WITH a mustache.

The kids were pleased as punch as was Joe and I.
{Nothing better than seeing your kids giddy with excitement!}

The Lam fam all came over for Christmas breakfast at our house and we got to skype with my cute nephew all the way from his LDS mission in Barcelona, Spain.

So. Fun!
We are SO proud of all he is accomplishing over there.

The kids tinkered around with all of their presents for the rest of the day
{I napped, of course. What is it about Christmas that completely WEARS YOU OUT?!}
and then we headed over to my parents house for Christmas dinner!

The kids played games...

.....and football on the golf course....

While Joe fried up a turkey, and my mom baked a ham.

 YUMMY to say the least.
We all ate until we were stuffed to the brim.
{What ELSE do you expect on Christmas?!}

We had our annual cousins gift exchange and adult gift card game....

...and Grandma played a super fun CANDY BAR game with the grandkids.

Following the festiviites, we all headed off to the movies to see:

Joe and I LOVED it.
My mom and sister did not.
My other sister, her husband and my brother LOVED it.
{My dad opted to stay home and enjoy the peace and quiet}.

It's definitely 'different'. But I thought it had a super cute message and was quite entertaining.
{Plus....I love Kristin Wiig.}

The evening was topped off with pie and we called it a night.

I slept until 10:05 AM the next morning......
a definite sign of a GREAT CHRISTMAS indeed!

Coombs Christmas Eve.

Anyone else feel like they've been run over by a truck today?
And please tell me that my house is not the only house that looks like a bomb exploded in it.
Day after Christmas = No. Energy.
Good thing it was all worth it!

Our Coombs family Christmas Eve went down like this:

The annual tradition of making Gingerbread Houses.
{We made em with friends this about a sugar rush!}

I've learned to 'let go' when it comes to decorating these and just let the kids HAVE AT IT!
{So what if it ends up looking like
Willy Wonka's worst nightmare, right?}

We went over to my parents house for Christmas Eve dinner.
We had our annual re-enactment of Luke 2, read by my dad and acted out by my rambunctious kids.

My 16 year old nephew was less than thrilled to play the part of Joseph.

My mom busted out the ole accordion and the kids were mesmorized.
{She's quite the player, that mom of mine!}

We played a very intense game of Old Maid.
{A Lamoreaux family favorite!}

And then we headed home and ended the evening by:
Preparing cookies and carrots for Santa and his reindeer,
Leaving Santa's magic key outside by our front door so he could come in...
{there's no such thing as chimneys in most of AZ}

Tucking the kidlets into bed to dream of sweet sugarplums,
and last but not least.....
 Joe and I watching our traditional "A Christmas Story" while making sure everything for morningtime was just. perfect!

{Everytime I watch that movie, I hear a new line that makes me laugh.  And I've seen that movie probably close to 500 times in my lifetime.}

This Weekend:

* The kids and I took my nephew out for his Birthday Breakfast!
We ate HERE - it's a family favorite.
It really makes me feel old that he is 16 now.
{Seems like just yesterday I was changing his diapers!}

*We braved the crowds afterwards and headed to the mall.
Won't be doing that again until way after the holidays!
WAY too packed for my liking.

* Friday night Joe and I met up with the rest of my family for dinner at Joe's Farm Grill.
{Their cheeseburgers are my favorite!}

And then we saw...
...which was incredibly hysterical - IF you like Will Ferrell.
Which I do.
Like. A LOT!
Warning though: the last 30 minutes of this movie
 were incredibly ridiculous.
{My parents came with us and my mom was not amused.}

* Saturday we started Grant's birthday celebrations.
{His bday was on Sunday.}
I let him pick out whatever he wanted to do that day and so he chose.....

Going to Bass Pro Shops.......

......with a birthday lunch at Red Robin afterwards.
{Yum to their Gingerbread shakes!}

* We headed home for the afternoon and quickly prepared for our annual
Coombs Family Christmas party at Joe's parents house.

We dined on the most delicious appetizers around....

We had our annual family talent show...

Carson chose to do FINGER PUPPETS and he rocked it!

We had a dance party with glow in the dark balloons.

My kids got spoiled with presents...

And we ended the evening with Birthday Cake!

Thank you Grandma Marilyn for throwing another SPECTACULAR party for our family.
We are blessed, indeed!

* Sunday the birthday celebrations continued...

* We dressed in our Sunday best and went to churchey-church...

* I handed THESE out to my cute Young Women.

* AND we ended the fun filled weekend with MORE cake and ice-cream
 and a Lamoreaux cousins math contest.
{Weird, I know.}

Which....of course....ended in tears...shortly after this pic was taken!

2 more days til Christmas

Another Young Womens Christmas Gift idea.

When I saw that nail polish was on sale for only 99 cents at Seagull Book, I just KNEW I had to use them somehow.  And since we don't have much left in our YW church budget with it being the end of the year, I KNEW these would make the perfect litle gifts
to hand out to our Young Women today.

Plus.....I KNEW that the whole 'toe' nail thing would go along nicely
And I LOVE tying that into anything that I can!

Super simple!
Tie your tags on with some bakers twine and you have a cute little gift-a-roo!

I bought an assortment of colors and the girls each had fun picking out which one they wanted.

Only 3 more days until Christmas!

A Holly Jolly Christmas week.

This week has been TOO much fun.
{Only 5 days until Christmas and I'm finally feeling like I can take a deep breath!}

Monday we took Grant and Carson's school teachers and their families to see the lights at the Mesa Temple.

We also introduced them to Cafe Rio.

The home of my very favorite 'sweet pork salad' on the planet!
Wednesday 'the Sassy Diva' had her preschool program.

Watching 4 year olds sing Christmas songs might just be the cutest thing ever!

We also had a very special visitor come to our house Wed. night...
....however Carson refused to sit on his lap as he was convinced that he was not the REAL Santa.

Thursday London spent the day with Grandma Marilyn, decorating sugar cookies....

.......while I helped out at the boys' school with a class party and Minute to Win it Games.

Picking up and balancing penne noodles on a spaghetti noodle.
I stunk at it.

The Buisty Bunch.
SO blessed to have the BEST of the BEST teachers for our kiddos.

And this picture is just hysterically funny because...doesn't my hand look just like Kristen Wiig's from this SNL skit?
{Totes. Hilare!}

'Tis the season to be MERRY - - and that we ARE!
Tonight.....seeing Anchorman 2 for date night.
Cannot. Wait.
