General Conference Motivator

I always like to put my puns to good use when motivating my Young Women to watch
 General Conference.  This year was no excpetion.

I handed these out to the girls today at church along with THIS idea for a 10 hour Personal Progress Value Project.  I also gave them a challenge of my own...

I told them that whoever watched ALL four sessions of conference and took notes... would be able to come over to my hosue in the next few weeks for a very special brunch.

We've done this before in the past and it's always so much fun!

Young Womens Broadcast Motivator.

Saturday night, thousands of Young Women from all over the world with the Mormon faith, will gather together to hear counsel and inspiration from church leaders.  This broadcast from Salt Lake City is always one of my very favorite evenings of the year.  It is always so uplifting, encouraging and inspiring.

{To read my very favorite talk from last year's session click HERE.}

This meeting is something that I want ALL of my cute young women and their mothers to attend so,
......I made up some treats to remind them about it.

I couldn't resist the EASTER theme!

I'm enlisting the help of my counselors and tomorrow we will personally deliver a carton of marshmallow eggs to each girl and their hopes of REMINDING them that this evening is something they will NOT want to miss out on.

Personal Progress treat.

My Laurels seem to be on fire lately with completing their Personal Progress.
I am SO proud of each of them.

Whenever they finish, in prepartion to receive their medallion, and before they meet with the Bishop,
I like to meet with them and go over all that they have accomplished.

And since I'm a sucker for all things SWEET...I also like to bring them their very favorite treats as well.

Yesterday while browsing through the Target $ bins {'s a daily occurance},
I came across these cute little Easter purses and lo and behold my treat idea was born!

So easy!

This Weekend:

* I took the kiddos to see....

It was absolutely DARLING.
Way better than I expected!

* We shopped around the mall afterwards and stumbled upon this shirt....

.....the boys BEGGED to get it for Joe for Father's Day.
Because it's just his style, no?

* Friday night date night with fun friends HERE.
We ordered the Vino Bambino salad, garlic cheesey bread and OF COURSE, a pizzookie.
Hands down one of my very favorite places to eat.
{And if you haven't tried that salad before?  It's to die for.}

* Saturday I attended a bridal shower for my cute sis-in-law to be....

Thursday is the BIG DAY.
We are SO excited for you Sarah and Ryan!!

*Saturday night we attended a 40th Birthday Bash for one of our dearest friends.
His wife went ALL OUT and threw a  'Survivor' style party.
It was off the hook FUN!
{Even though they made us eat things like SPAM, Sardines and Lemons. Bleh!}

And yes, that is mud on Joe's forehead.
We were all initiated at the beginning of the game with fresh mud on our skin.

 I know I say it all the time....but we serioulsy have the MOST FUN friends around us!

* Churchey Church on Sunday.
Taught THIS lesson in preparation for my EASTER lesson THIS Sunday.
{So excited}.

*Had a couple of Joe's siblings and a fun friend over for Sunday night dinner.
Pot roast, of course.
It's what my kids ALWAYS seem to request these days.
And I don't mind because it's my favorite as well!

Kids finally go back to school tomorrow from their Spring Break extravaganza.

Looking forward to: running errands all by myself.
Not looking forward to:  rushing out the door each morning.

Happy Easter Week!

Resurrection handout.

My cute Laurels advisor got released a couple of weeks ago {sob!} and so now I am in charge of teaching the girls until we get a new one.  Today's lesson was on:

I was super excited to teach about this as Easter is just NEXT WEEK!

I started the lesson out by giving the girls a QUIZ with all different questions
 about the Resurrection.

You can download my quiz  HERE.
{The first page is what I handed out to the girls - the second page is the answer key}.

We then got out our scriptures and spent a good portion of our lesson reading through
  Luke 24.
We had SUCH a GREAT discussion with this.

I then showed THIS short video and closed with my testimony.

As for my handouts....I thought these Operation Adhesive Bandages
were just perfect for what I had in mind!

I printed my tag onto Avery® White Full-Sheet Labels for Inkjet Printers aka my 'sticker paper' and placed it right on the back of the box!
SO easy!!!

To download a copy of this handout click HERE.

Can you believe Easter is only ONE WEEK away?!?!?!

Scent of a Woman.

LOVING this new scent from Bath and Body Works.
Who knew that Peach + Poppies could equal such a GREAT smell?

Remember THIS smell?
It's my ALL time favorite B&B smell.
So wish they'd bring it back.

Does a certain scent ever bring back a flash of memories for you?
Flowering Herbs would bring back such a SURGE of highschool memories.
Which is great...because I LOVED highschool.
You just couldn't PAY me to go back and do it all over again.

Easter Inspiration.

Now that our cruise is over....I can dive into ALL THINGS EASTER.
I'm slightly bugged that Easter falls at the end of March this year.
I feel like when it does that....we just don't get enough time to enjoy all things PASTEL.
{I much prefer a middle of April, Easter.  But whatever.}

I FINALLY got out all of my decor today.
{I know, I know, I am like super late!  I was ALMOST tempted to NOT put ANY decor out since it is just a week and a half away.  GASP! I just couldn't do it.  I HAD to decorate.}

You can see some of the decor around my house HERE.
I'm working on a new kitchen table EASTER centerpiece.  Will post pics soon.

Here are some cute pieces of inspiration that I've found around the web-o-sphere lately:

LOVING the simplicity of these framed Easter bunnies.
I REALLY need to invest in a Silhouette machine.
Or a Cricuit.
It would make crafts like these SO much easier on me.

I LOVE these cute place settings with cupcake liners.

And speaking of place settings....these pails are ADORABLE!
I've seen these chalkboard pails before in the $ bins at Target.

Preppy and Pink
I'm in LOVE with this FREE printable.
How cute is it that all you have to do is print and add a cottonball!?!

The Chick n' Coop
And these Bunny Bottom pancakes?
Oh my!
I am totes making these with THIS recipe on Easter weekend.
My kids will flip.

Thinking up some crafty ideas for my kids' classmates this spring.

Cruisin' Together...

Am I the only one who thinks of THIS song when I hear the word cruise?

Joe and I just got back from a week full o' BLISS.
And I mean....BLISS!

I'm convinced that EVERY couple needs to take one of these trips OFTEN.

It was so refreshing, relaxing and re-energizing.
It was JUST what the doctor ordered!

Things that we LOVED about our cruise:

The 24-7 service.

Nothing like having someone clean up after you ALL day long.
Our cute little Phillipeano Andy took such good care of us.
Folded towel animals each night, chocoaltes on our bed, fluffed pillows.
I wanted to take him home with us!

* The view from our bedroom balcony.

Waking up and falling asleep to this each day was incredible.
If you ever go on a TROPICAL cruise of sorts...a balcony room is a MUST!

*Winning $400 at B-I-N-G-O!

{Pay no attention to the fact that #1) I have zero make-up on.
And #2) I'm sporting cleavage. Yikes!

Playing BINGO with the old folks is my guilty pleasure.
And guess what....I won not once but TWICE!
{I seriously never win ANYTHING!!}

So. Much. Fun.

* ALL of the places we stopped.....

This particular island is exclusively owned by Holland America.
When I picture HEAVEN in my mind.....I now picture this island.

It was so nearly brought Joe to tears.
{And no I'm not overexaggerating.}

We snorkled there off of a little boat and it was fascinating.

{Fun fact: Did you know I have issues when it comes to breathing under unusual circumstances?  I looked like such a weirdo trying to get the hang of breathing with my snorkel mask...mind you...this was NOT my first time.....that the poor Jamaican lifeguard offered to give me his flotation device to swim around with.  Yes...I must've made a spectacle of myself but man...was it fun!}

Other highlights worth mentioning:

* St. Maarten.
 We went on a shore excursion that involved riding wave runners to a nude beach.

Unforutnatley for us, there were no nudes.
Because seriously...that would have been the SUPER BOWL of people watching.

* A hot stone massage.

If you ever book an appointment with a girl named 'Baby'.....don't let her name fool you.
'Baby' had some serious strength in those little hands of hers.
My joints ached for the entire next day.
Although... it was a 'good' ache.

* The food.
Ohhhhhhh.  The food.
Every. Single. Meal. that we snarfed down was PHENOMENAL.

* Thrice daily ice-cream cones.
The GOOD kind too.
Waffle cones with hand scooped ice-cream and any topping you want!

*Dancing in the nightclub.
I don't mean to brag BUT...I think Joe and I have still got it with our moves.
{Kidding!  I'm sure we looked RIDICULOUS !}

* Competing in 'The Marriage Game'.
{The ship's version of 'The Newlywed Game'.}

Lets just say...I'm glad that we knew NO ONE on that ship.
We divulged WAY too many juicy details about ourselves.

We took second place and scored...... a bottle of champagne?!?
What the??  We got ripped.  We don't even drink!!!

Now it's 'back to life...back to reality'.
So happy to see our cute kiddos again.

HUGE thanks to both Joe and I's parents for helping out!!!
So nice to leave them in such great hands!

The hubbers and I are celebrating our TENTH ANNIVERSARY next week!
{Even though...technically, our anniversary is really on the 27th.}

We set sail on a cruise that we've been wanting to do for quite sometime now!!
I'll be back to regular posting on March 18th.

Things I am looking forward to on this cruise:

*Uninteruppted sleep.
*LOTS of sleep.
*Sleep WHENEVER I want to.
*Relaxing WHENEVER I want to.

*Unlimited amounts of Diet Coke.
*Unlimted amounts of yummy food.
{Good thing calories are non-existent at sea, right?}

*Soaking in sun.

*Reading my new books and magazines.
*People watching with my hubbers.

...and that's to just name a few!!!

St. Patrick's Day Teacher Treats.

Even though our kids are usually on Spring Break over St. Patrick's Day...
I still like to have them bring in a little GREEN treat for their teacher's before break begins.

{I CAN'T let a holiday go by without doing it justice! Ha!!}

These were super easy.

I stopped by my favorite local candy shop and picked up the green gumballs.
I made a tag and tied a ribbon around it!

You can download my FREE printable for this tag HERE.

Dr. Seuss Cupcakes.

Today Carson's class celebrated the late, great Dr. Seuss!
I volunteered to bring in cupcakes and these are what I came up with.

I had high hopes of making THESE but...
they say that the cotton candy does not last long on the cupcakes {it dissolves}
and I wasn't sure when exactly the kids would be eating them.

I took the safe route!

You can see my Lorax cupcakes HERE.

Tomorrow I'll share an easy little St. Patty's day treat that I'm whipping up for the boys' teachers!
Stay tuned...

The Lorax Cupcakes.

This week is READ ACROSS AMERICA week.
The boys' school also celebrates Dr. Seuss this week.
{Seuss' birthday was on Saturday!}

I wanted to make some fun treats for Grant's class to help kick off the festivities and the cute little Lorax kept coming to my mind.

These cupcakes were extremely easy to make.

I had a mustache lollipop mold on hand that I used by melting yellow chocolate candy wafers.

Pretty close to the real deal, right?!?

I used a regular yellow cake mix with store bought frosting {gasp!} dyed orange with food coloring.

Two of my very favorite quotes from this movie:

“It's not about what it is, it's about what it

 can become.”

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful

a lot,

Nothing is going to get better. It's not.”

Coming soon....CARSON'S Dr. Seuss class treats.
