This Weekend:

*It got up to 120 degrees here.
Ya wanna know what it feels like living in a place where it reaches 120 degrees?

Picture yourself opening up an oven door and stepping inside.
The end.
That's exactly what it feels like.

* We started re-doing the boys' bedroom.

No more vintage airplane motif and no more sharing a bed.
The boys got twin beds
 {Carson was very adimant about not getting bunk beds because he was afraid that Grant would fall on top of him in his sleep!}
and we are switching over to an all sports themed room.

Can't wait to finish up and take pics to share!

* Friday night we took the kiddos to Lolo's Chicken and Waffles...

...and then onto the

Talk about a spectacular show!
We were mesmorized.
Worth every penny!

* Saturday I made more of THESE for some of my peeps.
LOVE making them.

*Saturday night I took the kiddos to watch two of my nieces perform in THE WIZ.

Cute play with great voices.
{Can you believe I've NEVER seen The Wiz until now?!?}

*Churchey-church on Sunday.

* Afternoon nap....interrupted close to 20 times my by daughter asking me to check out her hair and see if I liked the bow she had in.  Yes...she went through nearly 20 bow changes within an hour and a half.

* AFV and homemade chocolate chip cookies on Sunday night.

Currently watching the news coverage on the 19 firefighters who lost their lives here in AZ tonight.
So. So. Sad.

Hug your loved ones.
And tell em you love em.

Personalized Monogram Wreaths.

I don't know about you but...
sometimes I find the CUTEST stuff on Pinterest and guess what?

I have NO desire to make it.
No matter HOW clear their tutorials are....
I just want a button to push so I can purchase what I'm seeing and not have to worry about collecting all of the materials to make it.

{Sometimes I'm just plain lazy like that.}

Which is why I'm starting up a small {very small!} little side biz.

I thought...if there are OTHER people out there like me...
why not offer some of the things that I ENJOY doing...for sale!

To save YOU the effort.

Here's what I'm up to my eyeballs with now...

Personalized Monogram Wreaths

I may or may not have a huge ob-sesh with wreaths.
And that same ob-sesh goes CRAZY when it's a PERSONALIZED wreath.

I made one of these for my friends for her birthday last week
{last initial in the middle with her house address}
and I've seriously become obsessed with the possibilites.

So here's the deal....
I am making and selling them for $40.
If you don't live in my neck of the woods...I ship within the U.S. for $15 via Priority Mail.

The colors are completely customizable!
YOU tell ME what you'd like.
{Or...if you're not sure...I can come up with something!}

For more information or to place an order please contact me thru the email address listed on my CONTACT page.

I accept paypal.
And {soon-ish?} I'll be opening up an etsy shop.
{Perhaps when my kids go back to school.}

This one I made for the 4th of July.
Could be hung all summer long!

2-fer Tuesday.

2 Shows on the Disney Channel that ABSOLUTLEY DRIVE me BONKERS:

Does the middle daughter annoy anyone else as much as me?

I just can't stand the voices on this darn show.

My kids watch the Disney channel.
A. Lot.
{Don't judge.  It's hotter than Haiti here this summer and it's supposed to get up to 116 by Friday!}

MOST shows on this channel...I really do love.
{Good Luck Charlie anyone?  It's my fave.  With OR without my kids around.}

These two shows though??  I'd be fine never hearing another episode of, in the background.

{Somehow I know every single line to every single show to every single episode from the Disney Channel and I've never even watched an entire episode of any of them. Anyone with me?}

No big shocker here.
I become madly obsessed every season it's on.
This sesason is no exception.
I find myself starting to get giddy with excitement when I realize on Tuesday morning, that it's going to be on that night.
 {It's the little things in life that excite me, people.
 Doesn't take much.}

Thrifty Mint Chocolate Chip Ice-cream.
For you East's a west coast ice-cream brand and it's the only thing that even comes NEAR to tasting as good as Baskin and Robbins mint chocolate chip.

It is divine.
And last week when I {almost} had a major meltdown with my kids at bedtime....I stormed outta the house, left things up to Joe and drove 2 miles down the road
to my local Water n' Ice and got myself a double scoop!

And guess what?
It made everything better.
{Again...please don't judge.  It's summer.  And I needed some 'alone' time.}

This Weekend:

* We saw Monsters University on Friday morning.

It was ABSOLUTELY darling.
DEFINITELY would see it again.

* Joe and I went here for the first part of our date night...

It was peaceful AND beautiful and JUST what I needed.

*Mangos afterwards for dinner.
{Man their stuff was SPICY that night!! And I'm not a huge fan of SPICE.
Good thing they have the best Diet Dr Pepper to wash it all down with!}

* Went BED shopping for the boys afterwards.
I've got an itch to re-do the boys' bedroom.
That....and I think it's time they have their own beds now.
{They've been sharing a Queen since they were little.  And to be quite honest...they've never once complained about it.  Which I LOVE!}

* Dessert HERE {as usual}.

* Saturday morning Joe and the boys took off for a 'boys morning' and London and I shopped at Hobby Lobby.
Last week...Target was London's latest ob-sesh.

This week?
Hobby Lobby.
{Help me NOW!}

Her OTHER latest ob-sesh?
How is it that we are JUST NOW discovering these?
She got her very first one on Saturday and hasn't let it out of her sight since.
She keeps asking when we can go back for more.....sigh.
{I'm in for it.}

* Crafted up a few of THESE on Saturday afternoon.
Excited to start making lots more!

* Saturday night we stayed in with the kiddos and grilled steaks.
{We definitely like us some red meat in this fam....yes we do!}

* Attempted watching Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret
...the made for TV movie on the Lifetime network.

Like, so horrible I turned it off after the first 20 minutes.

So many things disturbed me about it.
{Not to mention the fact that the actress playing Jodi was WAY prettier than the acutal Jodi.}

* Churchey-Church on Sunday.

*Spiritual Uplifting-ness HERE.

* Dinner at my parents.
{Sunday dinner ALWAYS tastes more delish at my parents than my own house.}

Made THIS dessert for the second time in a week.
It's seriously my new fave.
{And EXTRA tasty with a side of mint chocolate chip ice-cream.}

* We watched

Talk about C-R-A-Z-Y!
Can't belive anyone in their RIGHT mind would CHOOSE to do that!
And I can't imagine a WIFE who would ALLOW her husband to do that.

Hoping to get a full night's sleep tonight.
Why do my kids find it necessary to wake me up in the middle of the night for EVER TINY THING?
It's as if they TRULY believe that moms don't need sleep.

Anyone else have this prob?
I seriously had to have a chat with them today that UNLESS it's an is NOT to be woken up tonight.  We'll see how that goes.

It's a good thing they're so cute.

What started out as a birthday gift for a friend...

...has become my latest obession...

I'm addicted to making these now.... many possibilites!

The good news?
 I'm going to be selling them soon
and will be taking custom--personalized orders.
{I'll even ship em to ya
if you don't live in my neck of the woods.}

Details VERY VERY soon!

Girls Camp CD.

One last post about Girls Camp.
{I think.}

I wanted to share the MIX CD that I made up for all of the cars driving UP and BACK from Girls Camp.  As I talked to my presidency last year about this...we decided that we wanted a cd full of songs that were FUN, UPLIFTING, EMPOWERING and HIP?!

 Keep in mind, we DO NOT allow the girls to bring their cell phones, ipods, etc. to camp OR even in the car ride there.  We look at this as a time for them to bond and prepare to get to know one another.

I'm a big fan of music.
FUN music.
So this was a MUST for our camping adventures.

If you'd like to make a cd for your own are the songs that I downloaded from iTunes.

NOTE:  You MUST search each song with either the words 'CLEAN' and/or 'RADIO EDIT' next to them.  Otherwise, you might end up with some naughty words in the lyrics.  And you wouldn't want any of that now, would you?!?

DOUBLE NOTE:  I was floored, while searching for FUN songs to add to this cd, at the amount of songs on the radio right now, that have 'questionable lyrics' and inappropriate words.  FLOORED!

2-fer Tuesday.

TWO BOOKS I am reading:

I have LOVED reading this one.
Very uplifting and inspiring.
It's an easy read.
I remember Brad Wilcox speaking at an EFY I attended back in the day.
He is great.

Just BARELY started this one.
I had been eyeing it for the past few months, each time I went into Deseret Book.
Finally decided to snag two.  One for my mom for Mother's Day and one for myself.
I pretty much love anything that Sheri Dew has a hand in.

TWO things I am

1.  Celebrating the 4th of July in Prescott with my family.
It's just for one night and it's our only trip planned for the entire summer, but it means....
Cooler temps!
And a cute little town.

2.  Going to Disneyland in September.
I'd pack the kids up right now and take em if I knew it wasn't the most crowded place on earth this summer.
We like to go when it's not busy.
Like.  Not busy at all.
My kids are already talking about which rides they want to ride first.
Joe and I are already talking about which treats we want to eat there first.
{Everything seems to taste a little extra magical there, no?}

This Weekend:

* We ran errands.
Hot, nasty, errands.
I've contemplated hibernating this summer.
I have a daughter though who would NEVER let that happen.
Because she now insists on going to Target

I thought I was obsessed.
Nope...she's got me beat.

* We said goodbye to our very favorite 1st grade teacher on the planet.
{Sniff, sniff}.

Ms. Avery you will be missed.
Like.  A LOT!
Pennsylvania is SO lucky to have you.
{P.S. Thank you for teaching me how to make bows before you left. It's about time I learn!}

* Friday night Pool Party and BBQ with some of our very favorite peeps.

Thank you Catmull's for hosting us.
Your farm is the bomb-diggity.

I made THIS cake for dessert and it was a BIG hit.
Super easy. Super yummy. Super recommend it.

* Saturday morning Joe golfed and the kidlets and I slept in until 9:30.
{Bliss I tell you!}

* Costco run.
Thank goodness I left the kids at my parents this time.
Costco + Saturday + the heat + a bajillion people = Gross.

* Saturday night we celebrated Father's Day with my side of the family.

An adult dinner at Black Angus.
Oh my yuminess.
We were so stuffed they had to practically roll us out afterwards.

So grateful for such a cute and fun loving dad.

*Churchey-church on Sunday.
Watching the kids sing to Joe in Sacrament meeting made my heart melt.
{As usual}.

Such a good lookin group.
Proud to call them MINE!

So grateful for my hubbers.
Blessed indeed.

* Sunday night we celebrated with Joe's side of the family.

Swings...water gun fights and a friendly 'Nerf gun competition'
between all of the dads.

And I don't mean to brag BUT.......
my hubbers won.

Grateful for such a fabulous and loving father-in-law..

Joe and I are SO blessed to have the dads we do.

It's so comforting to know that, if we ever needed ANYTHING at matter WHAT time of DAY...either of them would come to the rescue in a heartbeat.

{Not to mention... they are both such great examples to us all!}

A very good weekend indeed!

Priesthood Keys Handout.

Today I taught my cute girls a lesson titled:

I put my 'cheesey pun' thinking cap on and this is what I came up with for their handout...

Easy peasy.
I rounded up some useless keys I had laying around my junk drawer
{doesn't everyone have one of those?}
 and attached it to the ribbon.

For a copy of my FREE printable click HERE.

I am truly blessed because of the power of the priesthood.
Grateful to the worthy men in our church who hold the priesthood keys.

Girls Camp Part 3 - Decorations and such.

The theme for our Girls Camp this year was:
One Step Closer.
The whole week centered around taking 'one step closer' to our Savior Jesus Christ.

Left: the backdrop that our stake ladies made for all of our evening and morning devotionals.
Right:  our stake camp sweatshrits.

The color and value that our ward was assigned was:
Purple and Integrity.

My favorite color!

Here's a little peek at how we spruced up OUR spot in the forrest.
{Sorry for the poor lighting in most of these pics.}

A chore chart is ABSOLUTELY mandatory at Girls Camp.
Everyone must pull their weight.
{Some?  Do it better than others.}

My cute secty made up the chart which I thought was darling.
We hung it on a tree.

My cute Beehive advisor and I whipped up some purple gingham bunting beforehand to hang all around our main awning.
 I also made up another banner with our ward's name on it
{see last year's HERE} to hang up as well.

A long time back, a past Young Womens president in our ward purchased these cute white lanterns from Ikea.  We made two rows with shepherd hooks and hung these lanterns on them {with battery operated lights} and lit up a little pathway to our tents each night.

My camp director printed off a whole bunch of different printables from online and then we staple gunned them onto stakes {stakes were spray painted purple of course!} and then hammered them into the ground, all around our campsite.

My other camp director was a preschool teacher and had this cute mailbox on hand.
{Our stake does a really cute mail system with the girls at camp each year}.

But this is how we hung them to out to dry.
We had three bins:
One to soap em up.  One to bleach em. And one to rinse it all off.

LOVED this idea though from another ward...

They had each girl wash their OWN dishes and then they each their OWN mesh bag with their name tags on em, and they hung em out to dry until the next meal.

A couple other ideas I LOVED around our stake campsite?

Isn't the entrance of this tent ADORABLE?
Made from colored plastic tablecloths.

And I LOOOVED this idea for storing snacks, from another ward .

So nice and neat compared to having open treat bags and snack boxes all over the place.

Hoping to remember these for next year....If... I'm still in.
