Tasty Turkey amongst other things.

Another Thanksgiving has come and gone and our festivities this year went off without a hitch!
{Well...minus the fact that my sister-in-law's yams started on fire in the oven! No worries though...she had extras marshamallows on hand to re-top them with!}

Here's how our little Coombs' family Day o' Thanks went down:

Turkey Bowl!
Joe and the boys spent the morning playing football.
{Check out our blue skies in the background.
It was the PERFECT weather!}

London and I watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
{I've been watching it since I was London's age! It's a MUST at our house}
 and I scoured through the newspaper to see what sales, stores were offering this year.

Once the boys returned we all get ready...

...and headed over to Joe's parents house for the rest of the day.

Joe's mom had everything decorated so perfectly.

Yes...we got to eat our Thanksgiving dinner outside - - how awesome is that?

Marilyn had created the cutest 'Thankful Tree' with a leaf for everyone to hang.

During dinner, we all went around the table and told each other what we put on our leaf.
{My personal favorite?
My own Carson's: "I'm thankful for college and college football".}

My husband decided he wanted to try his hand out at FRYING a turkey this year.
He's researched it for weeks.

Proud {and relieved!} to say that he did an AWESOME job, no 3rd degree burns were sustained
and the fried turkey was a HUGE hit!
{Great flavor and super moist - - ugh...sorry about the moist.}

The rest of the afternoon was spent stuffing our faces, playing Grandma's fun Memory Game, plopping ourselves on the couch, playing MORE football, and playing outside.

Oh yeah....and LOTS of whip cream shots for all the cousins.

We headed home and finished our evening with Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving TV special.
{Classic!}

Thank you to my fabulous in-laws for hosting such a FUN Thanksgiving.

We are VERY blessed, indeed!!!

2-fer Tuesday.

2 of my Favorite Songs right now:

Demons by Imagine Dragons
{Cannot. Get. Enough.}
Side note: My kids are OBSESSED with Imagine Dragons right now.
They're dying to go to their concert.
I said no because I thought, if I take them to a concert when they're 8 and 7 - - what are they going to want when they're 12 and 13??? Right?!!

Best Day of My Life by American Authors
I honestly think this song should play on EVERYONE's alarm clock when they wake up each day.  For reals.
What if we ALL thought this when we arose each morning?!
I LOVE the positivity of this song.

2 of my new Favorite Treats:

Chex Mix PEPPERMINT FLAVORED Muddy Buddies
Holy Smokes these babies are GOOD!
They may just be my new Christmas weakness.
{I spotted these at Target.}

Lotus Biscoff Spread

Oh. My. Yummy-ness.
Grant's teacher raved about this and gave me some to try for myself.
When I asked her 'what to put it on' she said, "You're finger!"
I laughed but SHE WAS RIGHT.
I can't stop digging my finger into it and having 'just a taste!'

This stuff is CRAZY delish.
For reals though - you can spread it on graham crackers, toast, bagels, etc.

P.S.
I purchased my copy of this today:

There are really no words.
Ok....just one.
DREAM-A-LICIOUS!!!

A Must Try DIP recipe for the HOLIDAYS!

* I am a member of the Mom it Forward Blogger Network and this post is sponsored being sponsored by the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association.
I am being compensated by the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association for my participation in this campaign.
All opinions are 100% my own.

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say this BUT - - cooking during the holidays is one of my VERY favorite things ABOUT the holidays.

So many yummy smells, tastes and memories
come with each recipe, it seems.

EVERY Thanksgiving and Christmas, since I can remember, my family makes
OUR VERY FAVORITE dip {to be served with crackers} as an appetizer.
And EVERY time we whip it up - it's gone within minutes.

I LOVE this recipe because it includes two of my very favorite ingredients.
Cream cheese and sour cream.
How can you NOT love those two items - let alone MIXED together??

 Both can be found in the refrigerated food section of your local grocery store.

Refrigerated foods are made from real, simple, fresh, farm-grown ingredients and can be customized to fit within a well-balanced lifestyle.

Not only are these wholesome ingredients nutritious, they taste delicious and leave everyone at mealtime {AND appetizer time!} feeling satisfied.

Today is YOUR lucky day because I'm sharing this top secret Lamoreaux Family recipe with my fabulous bloggy-blog readers!

This Weekend:

* I cleaned out all of our closets.
Switched out all of the shorts and short sleeved shirts for long pants and long sleeves.
{It's getting a tad bit chilly here in AZ!}
It felt good to clean out and sort of purge, in an organizing sense.

I also realized that mostly ALL of London's clothes {and mine!} involve stripes or polka dots.

* Friday night I went with one of my very favorite friends to a Thirty One bag party.

We got to hang out with Grant and Carson's school teachers and it was tons o' fun!
I bought the most adorable polka dot {of course!} bag and I am seriously in love with it.

Afterwards we got some {early} Christmas shopping done and ate dinner HERE.
{I could easily pound a half a dozen of their garlic cheese knots ANY day.}

* Saturday morning we actually got to SLEEP IN!
{BLiSS!!!}

* Grant had another basketball game.
{3 more baskets added to his scorecard!}

It was quite the nailbiter of a game.
They lost by one point in literally the last second of the game.

I was a nervous wreck.
If my kids ever end up playing highschool sports I don't know WHAT I will do..
watching your child play sports can be SO nerve racking!!!

Look at that sweet red face.
Kids plus Grandma Marilyn, who came to cheer Grant on!
* Saturday night date night.
We ate HERE and LOVED it!!
Never been before but we purchased a Groupon and REALLY REALLY enjoyed it.

We'll def be back for more.
Joe was in HOG HEAVEN there too because they had the ASU game on ALL of their tv screens.
{Another nice win for the Devils!!}

We saw this movie afterwards:

Image

I really do love me some Vince Vaughn.
And both Joe AND I enjoyed the movie.
Cute story.

* Meetings and Churchey-church on Sunday.

* We busted out our Christmas tree Sunday afternoon.

My husband really knows how to 'put his back into it', right?
{Smile.}

I know what some of you are thinking.
IT'S NOT EVEN THANKSGIVING YET!!!

Well it takes me a good WEEK to get my whole house decorated just the way I want it.
The earlier I start the better.

And I've made a pledge to myself this year to have it ALL done by Thanksgiving Day so that I can relax that weekend and enjoy it with my family.

* We also surprsied our kiddos with this:

We are HUGE fans of doing the Polar Express up north.
Joe and I honestly enjoy it just as much as our kids do.
So fun!!

*********************

This week I'm looking forward to:
Thanksgiving, of course! It's one of my very favorite holidays
AND
Taking London to see the Nutcracker - our very first time ever!

The holidays are HERE and I could not be more thrilled!!!

Fun Finds Friday.

Happy Friday everyone!

I don't know about you but I've been bustling around trying to get as much 'Christmas-ey' stuff done as possible - before Thanksgiving hits.  We all know once that happens - stores are filled with chaos.
And I DO NOT like chaos.

Here's some FUN FINDS for your viewing pleasure this week:

I. Love. Chicken Wire.

I have something similar to this board found atTarget, at my house and I LOVE it!
I clip cute pictures, invites, etc. on it.
They're SO much fun to look at it.
Added bonus: This one has a chalkboard on top!
I. Love. Chalkboards.

Are these not the cutest utensil holders, EVER?
Found at Hobby Lobby - I think these would be SO cute on the table as part of each person's place settings this Christmas.

Also found at Hobby Lobby - these mini loaf bread pans.
LOVE them.

And for anyone who LOVES entertaining - I spied this cute buffet server set at Sams Club this week.
I'm adding it to my Christmas wish list.

***********

Anyone rush off to Wal-mart this morning to take advantage of their
'PRE-Black Friday' deals, only to be sorely disappointed once you got there to find that everything was already gone?
{Big, huge, frowney face.}
I STILL refuse to go out shopping on Thanksgiving.

Easy Bow Holder How-to.

The SASSY DIVA has too many bows.

I'm not complaining.
Nor do I intend to get rid of any....
We just have 'outgrown' her current bow holders....if that is possible?!

{Side note: The sassy diva and I were having
ONE OF THOSE mornings today.

It involved: fits, tears, and London spilling her anti-biotic all over the carpet.

It's a good thing she's so cute, right?!

Thankfully, Grandma came to the rescue and offered to take her for a couple of hours so I could re-coup!

What would we do without Grandmas?!}

So here's what we WERE hanging her bows on....

Double Side Note: I'm now selling these 3 bow holders.
All 3 for only $10.
Any takers?
I want them gone.
{I'm in a 'fall cleaning' mode at my house right now.}

And HERE's what I made as her NEW Bow Holder....

I told you she had a lot.
I'm even a little embarrassed to say -- we ran out of room on THIS bow holder and so she has a separate stash in one of her drawers for just her 'holiday bows'.
Eye yi yi, right?
Anyhoozle - - this bow holder was SUPER easy and SUPER cheap to make.

Here's how I did it:

I scored the BIGGEST frame that I could find {at Garden Ridge} for half off.
{Half off = double score!}

I took out the glass and backing and spray painted it white - to match the furniture in her room.

Then I scored some chicken wire from my cute girlfriend who lives on a farm.
{We're talking authentic chicken wire people - I even had to wash a few feathers off!}

I cut the chicken wire to the size of my frame and then just staple gunned it all around the back.

Easy. Peasy.

Quadruple Side Note {Sorry for all of the side notes today!}:

How cute is this book shelf I scored from someone on Facebook?

It was only $20!!!
Bargain, right?
It fits PERFECTLY in London's room, too!

Thanksgiving Centerpiece ideas.

Last week I helped my mom decorate for her annual
Relief Society Gratitude Dinner.

{Any party planning/decorating skills that I have -
 I owe to my mother.
She is the entertaning QUEEN BEE!}

I took photos {of course!} so we could remember how we did it all for next year.

Take a peek:

LOVE using acorns for Thanksgiving decor.

Aren't these napkin holders cute?
My mom's counselor made them up with Reese's Pieces and raffia.
Clever!

This framed quote sets on my piano right now.
LOVE it.
Found the FREE printable HERE.

Popcorn kernels and Split peas used as vase fillers.
Orrr...jar fillers.

Fake cranberries + Fake Leaves = perfect fall time centerpiece!

I just love this pic of my mom.
We share the same addiction of Diet Coke.
We've never met a Big Gulp we didn't like!

2-fer Tuesday.

2 of my new Favorite Finds:

Oh man.
These are dangerous.
These Peppermint flavored 'Fat Boys' are seriously HEAVEN on a stick.
HEAVEN I tell you!
{I scored mine at Albertsons.}

Image

The new 'Amber Blush' scent from B&B has got me swooning.
Smells OH SO good!
TRY IT the next time you're in there.
I'm hooked.

2 Things I Find Funny Right Now:

WHY on EARTH is this lady SO incredibly happy to be wearing DEPENDS?!
For reals.
I walked past this the other night at the grocery store and had to do a double take!!

WHO ACTS LIKE THIS when they have to wear
ANY TYPE of 'padded protection'???
Definitely not me.

Something TOTALLY ME?
Image
Who's with me on this one?!
