This Weekend {etc.}

I'm currently sitting on the front porch of our cabin, enjoying the breeze.
It. Is. Bliss. up here.

We arrived last night and to not have a schedule, or anything that we HAVE to do this next week is quite possibly the BEST feeling in the world.

We made a couple of stops on our way up here:

We had promised the kiddos a visit to the M&M world in Las Vegas.  It did not disappoint however our FAVORITE thing that we did while we were there....

...was visit the Coca-Cola Factory and try their
'Tastes of the World' sample tray.

For only $7, you get 2 full trays of different flavors of Coca-Cola based sodas from ALL around the world.

Out of all 12 cups - - we only did not enjoy ONE.

From Italy.

While traveling through St. George, UT - - I discovered a new favorite place.

Holy. Moly.
Their sodas and cookies were TDF.
{To Die For}.
I'm thinking of opening one of these in AZ.
{Not really, but wouldn't that be awesome?}

Our next stop took us to Gunnison, UT.

We have the most FUN friends that live there.
{They used to live by us in AZ and then they moved.  Isn't that rude?!}

 It was such a treat to get to spend time with them!

I'm heading out with my loves today for some much needed family time.
I'll be enjoying cooler temps and lots of reading out on the front porch of our cabin.

I cannot wait.

Posting will be sporadic - - but I will be back in full swing after the 4th of July.

For now - - please take the time to read THIS post.
 I wrote it last year, about this same time.

LOTS to be thankful for! - - - sometimes we just need the reminder.

2-fer Tuesday.

Nothing says good clean family FUN quite like Vegas, right?
We're taking the kidlets to the M&M and Coca-Cola factory there {they've been dying to go}. We've worked it out so that we can stop for a night on our way up to......

....Southern Utah!
So. Excited.
This place holds such a special place in my heart.
My family rents a cabin up in the beautiful Duck Creek Village and it absolutely makes our summer.
Fun, Fun!

2 Books I'm Excited to Read:
{One of my VERY favorite things about taking vacation, is all of the reading I get to do! First on my list is THIS one....Yes, Maureen  - - I'm finally going to start it and I couldn't be more excited!}

I've heard SUCH good things about this book!

This author is absolutely hysterical and I cannot wait to laugh my guts out while reading this memoir.

Has anyone read any of these?

July Visiting Teaching Handout.

This month's Visiting Teaching message is on:
The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ: Advocate

{I know, I know, I'm super early with this but I'm going out of town and wanted to have it up and ready to use for my readers! I have the best readers around!!}

Two ideas came to mind as I started planning my handout based around this theme.

I'm offering BOTH for FREE as always, but I'm curious to know WHICH handout, people use - - so PLEASE, if you download one or the other please comment and let me know which one you're using.  I like to know what my readers like :)

Handout #1:

All you need is a bottle of Fanta soda.
That's it!
Tie it up with some cute ribbon and this tag...

Handout #2:

Based after this quote from President Uchtdorf found on the LDS website:

The repetitive-ness of the 'Let Us' really stuck out to me.
Hence, the LETTUCE theme.

If you choose to go with the garden gloves and seeds, you can find both of those at either The Dollar Tree
or in the $ bins at Target right now.

I personally, loved the idea of giving a salad kit to someone to use for dinner.

Other suggestions to go with this tag:

* A fresh head of romaine. {I LOVE fresh romaine lettuce!}

*If you're needing to bring a dinner or lunch to someone - - you could buy those pre-made lettuce wraps at Costco and attach the tag.

Lots you could do with either of these handouts!

Download Fanta Tag HERE

Download Lettuce Tag HERE

As always - please make sure to become an

official follower of my blog

{right hand side under 'Join Site'}.

 *Ideas are posted daily!*

Also - - I am MORE than flattered when others

 'replicate' my ideas and come up with their

'own' tags.  I just

PLEASE ask that you give credit where credit

is due when posting, and please link back to

this original post.  xoxo

Happy Visiting Teaching!

This Weekend:

* Friday morning we got to babysit this cute little muffin...

...and painting her tiny toenails was an absolute must!
London was convinced that SHE infact was the babysitter and was loving EVERY minute of it!
{Fun Fact: London is OBSESSED with babies.}

* Friday night we went and visited our newest {and tiny-est} nephew.  Sadly, I forgot to take a picture of the cute little sweet potato.  Welcome to the world Hutchens!

* Dinner HERE afterwards.

The kiddos thought this place was totally legit too, with a live mariachi band and all.

* Saturday was a work around the house type of day.
Laundry, dusting, dishes, etc.
Felt nice to be able to stay home for once
{and not have to go outside in the HEAT!}

* Date night HERE with some of our very favorite peeps
Saturday night. I branched out and tried their beef tips.
YuM-o they were good!

* Churchey-church on Sunday.
One of my very favorite songs EVER was sung.
To hear my very favorite rendition of this song click HERE.
{Fun Fact: I cry EVERY time I hear it. SO pretty.}

* We mixed things up for dinner this week and had
Crockpot PORK CHOPS instead of our usual Pot Roast.
I made THIS recipe and it was DEE-LISH.
My fam snarfed it down which is always a good sign.

*Finished up my July Visiting Teaching handout which I am SUPER excited to share with you TOMORROW.

Happy Sunday!

Fun Finds Friday.

The Disney Store is having their big SUMMER SALE.
LOTS of cute stuff for cheap.

If you KNOW your daughter wants to be a princess for Halloween this year - -
NOW is the time to stock up on costumes.

Regularly $50 and $60 -
they're marked down to $29.99 and $24.99.

They've also got oodles of cute girl sandles and flip flops
 for as low as $4.99.

{P.S. If you live locally, I also spied a whole bunch of Frozen stuff at the San Tan location. I'm sure it will go fast.}

Loving these fun little scoops HALF OFF at Hobby Lobby.
They'd be perfect for a candy buffet or for toppings
 at an ice-cream party.

Ahhhhh...chevron ribbon.
Found these at Wal-Mart.

Did you know Staples sells a whole Martha Stewart line? Seriously cute labels {even chalkboard ones!}

I LOVE big bulbed lights.
We have clear ones hung around our patio all year long.
These colored ones are at Target right now in their $ bins {but for $3}.

Also at Target - - these adorable yummy smelling candles.
Wouldn't these be fun to give to someone?

I'm somewhat of a candle snob myself,
 and I have yet to actually TRY these BUT they smelled absolutely delicious in their jars.

Last but not least - - -

the picture above, I ABSOLUTELY consider a FUN find.
As I was texting my husband the other day, trying to convey an emotion over the cell phone, all while trying to make him laugh {of course}, I came across this gem.

I. Love. W.F.

Patriotic Decor ala Coombs.

As stated yesterday, I can't NOT decorate for a holiday.
{I just don't have it in me}.
And I must be rubbing off on my kids because as soon as one holiday is over, they're asking about the next.
I love it.

Right now we've got spurts of RED WHITE & BLUE all throughout our house.  I LOVE decorating with patriotic decor because it can go up before Memorial Day and then stay up clear until Labor Day.

Here's a peek at some of my favorite spots:

Striped candles from Ikea

Love this chevron canvas sign I found at Hobby Lobby.

Framed printable FREE at Diary of Dave's Wife

Framed printable FREE via The 36th Avenue

Patriotic Pinwheels via the $ bins at Target {last year}.

I made this wreath at the beginning of the season and it hangs on my front door.

Patriotic Party Ideas.

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the fact that the 4th of July is ALMOST here!
What the WHaT?!?
Where does the time go?

So many cute ideas around the web-O-sphere if you're planning a Patriotic party of your own.
{Follow me on Pinterest HERE.}

Better Homes and Gardens
These water bottles are about the cutest most clever things I've seen.  They're decorated with regular U.S. flags that you can find in the $ bins at Target right now.  Just secure with tape or glue dots.  Plastic flags would work as well!

The Creative Itch
Oh how I LOVE me some doilies.
Bunting MADE with doilies is EVEN better.
{They're spray painted red and royal blue. Cle---ver!

Teresa Health Food Blog
Need a quick and easy dessert/snack for your party?
All you need is:
 White chocolate covered pretzels + Strawberries + Blueberries. That's it!
Lisa Storms
Wouldn't these ring pops make darling place settings?
Or plastic utensil holders?

Every Memorial Day {with the exception of this year} we host a bbq with our family.  It's always a lot of fun and I have such a great time preparing for it.

Coombs Memorial Day Bash 2011

This is quite possibly the EASIEST way to red+white&blue your dessert up!

Ice-cream sandwiches + sprinkles.

Coombs Memorial Bash 2012

And a couple of easy ideas for place settings, using paper plates...

Coombs Memorial Bash 2013
Tomorrow - - I'm sharing a few pics of some patriotic decor from around my house!
{I can't NOT decorate for a holiday. I just don't have it in me.}

2-fer Tuesday.

2 New Lotions I've Discovered at
B&BW that I LOVE!

Yummy Yum! Yum!
These are my new faves.
I scored em for super cheap the other day, too.
{Did you know their BIG sale is going on right now? It's dangerous for me to go.}

2 New Finds That Make Me Smile!

Google Images
Holy. Moly.
It's a dream come true.
Oreos + Reese's.
It does not get better than this, folks!
These cookies DO NOT disappoint.

Did you know that Trader Joe's sells greeting cards?
For 99 cents?!?

I seriously thought I struck gold when I stumbled upon these.
Two Reasons: 1) Aren't they ADORABLE? and
2) So cheap! I HATE spending lots of money on cards. It's just one of those things that makes me cringe.
TJs is my new CARD go-to place!

This {Father's Day} Weekend:

* I ran errands.
Nasty. Hot. Errands. on Friday.
It was SO hot that I had to wrap things up by noon because I was sweating to death from getting in and out of my car.
{AZ probs.}

* Joe watched the World Cup and found the need to yell GOOOOAAAALLLLL at the top of his lungs everytime Chile scored.  He then followed that by running around our entire house {both upstairs AND downstairs} doing a victory dance.

The kids died laughing.
Fun Fact about Joe: He LOVES Chile.  He served his 2 year Mormon mission there.

* Friday night we took Joe's parents out to dinner HERE for Father's Day,
since this was our year to spend with my side of the family. It was fun and super tasty.  SO tasty that we were all too stuffed to the brim for dessert at our house afterwards.

I'm super bummed I didn't get a pic.
This one {from last year} will have to do - - -
Christmas 2013
Grateful for such a fabulous father-in-law who raised such a fabulous son.

* Saturday morning we took the kiddos to see:

We. Loved. It.
Which is actually quite surprising, seeing as how I didn't even WANT to take my kids to see it a few weeks ago.  I thought the previews looked a little too 'dark' and scary.  And I really don't enjoy Angelina all that much.

But...I was wrong.
The movie was DARLING and Angelina played her part VERY well!  It was a good one. Cute story.
{Side Note: Kids under the age of 5 MIGHT get a little scared.}

* We spent Saturday evening at home and sent the kiddies upstairs to watch the Disney channel while Joe and I
watched the 2 hour Dateline {I know, I know, we're SO exciting}. MAN was it a good one!

* Father's Day celebrations on Sunday!

Fatherhood looks good on him, no?

We fixed Joe a BIG breakfast...

Sausage, Egg and Cheese scramble, Fresh Biscuits and Hashbrowns.

The kids gave him a new poster to hang in his office...

I continued on our tradition of giving him a card related around farts....

Farts = Funny
No matter WHAT.

* Churchey-church.

* And we hosted Father's Day dinner at our house with all of my Lamoreaux family.

I found it fitting to do some type of a 'golf' theme...

....with pictures of ALL of the men {and boys!} from our family, around the tables.

The handsome Army man on the left is my Grandpa Lamoreaux.
And...since I forgot to take pictures of my dad and everyone else that evening....

....this one {circa 1982? 1983?} will have to do.
Don't be jealous of my dad's afro. It was pretty sweet.

GRATEFUL for Joe, my dad, Joe's dad, our grandfathers, brothers, uncles, cousins and nephews  - - ALL of the men and boys in our lives.

Blessed, indeed!
