San Francisco - Day 1.

How is it that I'm JUST NOW making it to this city?!

Last weekend we flew over with 3 of our favorite couples {and then met another one of our favorite couples from Reno there!} and WE. HAD. A. BLAST.

What a gorgeous city!!!
I ate it right up.

So much to SEE and so much to DO!
I definitely wanna go back.

Our days were packed to the brim with sightseeing, walking, eating and laughing. In fact, I laughed so hard this weekend, my voice is weak. No joke.

Here's how our first day in the big city went down:

We reserved our tickets to tour Alcatraz a couple of months ahead of time.  SO glad we did this.

What a fascinating little island!

We nerd-ed it up with the rest of the people and took the headphone tour of it all.

Do it!

I learned SO MUCH!

These were the convict's cells.

Yup, we even got to go inside of one.

The view of the city was breathtaking.

After we ferry-ed back - we hit up Fisherman's Wharf for some Boudin's sourdough breadbowls.

Fun Fact: I am NOT a fan of seafood, however I LOVE clam chowder.  And this place did NOT disappoint.

So super yummy!

We walked down to Pier 39 afterwards....

...and as if we weren't full enough - - we just HAD to try Trish's mini donuts.
{Thank you Courtney D. for the recommendation!}

They melted right into our mouths.
SO good!

We saw the seals....

and then shopped around and found the
cutest little candy store.

Next up on our self guided tour was The Palace of Fine Arts.

Holy Moly!
If you have not yet visited this place - - I highly recommend it!

I want to bring my kiddos back and get our family pics taken here.  SO gorge.

Right by this spot is a cute little park and well, since we can't ever lay down on green lush grass in the summertime in AZ, we took advantage of it.

The clouds rolling by were pretty much amazing.

We hopped on in our Suburban afterwards and then headed over to the Sutro Baths.

Another lovely little spot that reminded me of how much I love the beach. a little hairy.
My hubby got sick.
Like....he needed to barf sick.

And ya know how I painstakingly find it funny when others trip or fall in front of me? {I know - - - I really do have a heart, I promise!} Well, I could not stop giggling when my husband darted out of the car to barf his brains out.

Happy to say it was just a few hour bout and he was back at it the next morning.  PHEW!

We ended the evening at the Prickly Pear in Danville, CA... {OMG - have you ever been to Danville?! I want to live there!}

With the largest taco salad of my life!

SUCH a FUN day.

Cookies and Milk Bar.

Yesterday I helped host a little COOKIES & MILK BAR for the teachers at our school.

I created a sign up online and asked for 12 different people to each bring 2 dozen of their favorite homemade cookies.

We got SUCH a great variety and I think the teachers really enjoyed it!

I bought the biggest jar I could find at Target....

...and filled it up with about 8 different packages of cookies.
Everything from OREOS to Chips Ahoy to E.L. Fudge.

I had each teacher GUESS the amount of cookies they thought were in there and the winner took home the jar AND the cookies.
{The answer was 222.  And yes - - someone guess it

I whipped up the food card labels and banner and went with a pink theme - - since that's what I seem to have a lot of these days, in my random collections at home.

And yup - that's the same back board I used for the Spa Party HERE and my parent's 50th Anniversary party HERE.

Who knew a foam board from Staples could be so versatile, right?

I'll be back to blogging on Monday.
We are currently in San Francisco for the weekend!!!!

So excited to explore this city.
Can't wait to share all of the details with you.

Spa Party.

Last weekend I helped a dear friend of mine with her daughter's birthday party.

Her daughter turned 11 and requested a SPA themed party.

I whipped up some printables
{available SOON in my Etsy shop!}
and had a blast doing it.

Thanks Melissa for remembering to take photos!
You are a good GOOD mom!

For take home favors she had little buckets filled with flip-flops, a hair band, soap, gum and water to go.

She had stations set up for the girls to rotate through - - -

Lastly - - -

how cute is it that she had everyone come in their jammies?
LOVE that the hostess even had her hair in curlers.

Such a darling theme for a party!

Breakfast Recipes You'll Want to Try!

This last weekend our Relief Society held our annual Breakfast of Champions.

I always look forward to this morning - -
we're fed both spiritually AND physically.

This year was no exception.
Our committee did SUCH a great job with it all.

They served these French Toast Rolls....

Which are ALWAYS a hit.
I LOVE that you can make them up the night before!

The other recipe was an Egg Casserole recipe. I was asked to make up a pan and I modified it a bit from the original.

It turned out super yummy and I'll definitely be making it again.  Sadly, I forgot to take a pic.

Breakfast Casserole

1 pkg. Crescent rolls {roll out and press into bottom of greased 9x13 pan}

1 lb. sausage, cooked and crumbled

2 cups hashbrowns, shredded {not cooked} - - I sprinkled this layer with salt, pepper and garlic salt for seasoning

2 cups grated cheddar cheese

1/2 cup milk
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
8 eggs
2 Tbs. shredded parmesan cheese

Mix together and pour on top of crescent layer.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes.

Super delish! Next time I make this - - I think I'll do TWO layers of the crescent rolls - - so 2 packages.  I like a thicker crust!
