Taylor Swift Valentine.

Last but certainly not least is London's Valentine.

To say that she is OBSESSED with Taylor Swift is an understatement.  We're already planning her 6th Birthday party based all around the pop princesss.

She knew RIGHT away that she wanted Valentine cards centered around Ms. T-Swizzle. I knew that I somehow HAD to incorporate one of her song lyrics and so this is what we came up with.......

You can purchase an INSTANT DOWNLOAD of these Taylor Swift themed Valentine cards in my Etsy shop HERE.

There are 6 tags to a page and you can print them out however many times you'd like! Just add a bag of Pop Rocks, sign your name and you are GOOD to GO!

The Joke-ster Valentine {aka my Carson}

My middle son cares about being ONE thing in life.
Funny.

If he can make people LAUGH - - then he is one happy boy.

I asked him what theme HE wanted to go with for Valentines Day this year and he instantly blurted out - -
 'something with a tuxedo'. Not even joking.

So I got to work.

I automatically started rhyming things with the word TUXEDO. Cheeto popped into my head and his
JOKE-STER Valentine card was born.
{I'm pretty prouda myself actually on this one!}

He's pleased as punch that his includes a JOKE!

You can purchase the instant download of these Valentine

 cards {minus my sons cute face} in my Etsy shop HERE

There are 4 tags to a page.

All you need to do is print, trim,

attach with some ribbon to a small

bag of Cheetos and you are GOOD to GO!

Guaranteed laughs for sure!

Basketball Valentine.

****** Before reading any further..... the spelling on these Valentine's has been corrected to read I'm YOUR biggest fan and NOT I'm YOU'RE biggest fan.  Sometimes I have a million things going on in my mind and I don't catch these things, sigh.  Luckily..my awesome readers do :) The file on Etsy has been corrected and is ready to download!

Each year I have my kids pick the theme they want for their Valentine cards to be handed out in class.

 Grant, not surprisingly, chose BASKETBALL.

My {pun-ish} brain went straight to work.

Because what kid doesn't want a nice sugary soda for Vday?
{Chuckle}. In my defense -- they are the MINI cans.

Super easy.

You can purchase the instant download of these Valentine cards in my Etsy shop HERE. There are 4 to a page.  All you need to do is print, tape the back of the card onto a Fanta soda can and you are set to go!

Grant was THRILLED with how they turned out.
Happy momma.

Up next...Carson and London's Valentines.....

This {Birthday Boy} Weekend.

* Friday was spent running errands and doing odds and ends while my kiddies were at school.

I picked up this adorable Valentines board that I'm pretty much in LOVE with....

I bought it from a gal off of Facebook + a shamrock one for St. Patrick's Day. Isn't it the cutest?

* I worked on Etsy orders....

....and good news for those of you who have asked.
MY BURLAP BAGS ARE BACK AND IN STOCK!
{I'll officially list them in the shop later today.}

* Friday night was Joe's Bday celebration #1.

I took him to a seafood restaurant {barf!} because he LOVES him some good seafood. We went HERE in Gilbert because of their great reviews and we really enjoyed it.

I, of course, ordered the buttermilk fried chicken and it was divine. {Not a seafood fan one bit.  UNLESS it's New England clam chowder.}

* Afterwards we went and saw...

THIS movie and we both LOVED it.
It's based on a true story right here in Phoenix.
It's heartwarming and cute.

* Game Day on Saturday.

When Carson wasn't busy making shadow puppets
 on the soccer field.....

....he was busy scoring GOALS!
Yup.  Another goal for this guy.

PLUS the game day medal!

Grant shot another basket in his game and this momma bear was ONE PROUD MOMMA!

* Saturday night was Birthday Celebration #2.

Dinner with some of our favorite friends HERE.
Such yummy food and good laughs.

Hanging with people that make you LAUGH is good for the soul I've decided.
{Which is especially good when you have to wait an hour just to get a seat!}

* Churchey-church on Sunday and Joe's OFFICIAL birthday!

Gosh I adore this pic of my 4 loves.

* After church I got straight to work making his birthday cake. He requested YELLOW with CHOCOLATE frosting.

And while HOMEMADE frosting is absolutely necessary....

It sure does make a MESS of your kitchen!

* Birthday Celebration #3 was Sunday night
 at Joe's parents house.

Fun fact: Did you know my husband is an identical twin?

Joe's Dad, Joe & his twin Jay
I personally don't think they look anything alike.
Do you?

We feasted on shredded beef tacos and homemade refried beans. {Soooo yummy!}

And these 2 cute cousins played dress up with all of Grandma Marilyn's jewelry.
{Are they not the cutest things ever?}

*************************************
Happy Monday!

On tap for this week:
Prepping for our trip to the DIZ
+
Going to see Jim Gaffigan!

Cannot. Wait.

Fun Finds Friday.

Raise your hand if you love TJ Maxx & Marshalls?
{BOTH my hands are up - that's how much I love em.}

Spied these cute ceramic heart shaped dishes there this week.  $2.99.  Thought they'd be cute filled with candy, wrapped in cellophane and given to someone SWEET.

Over at Target...

Could these mini pinatas be ANY cuter?

Also found this 12 pk of mazes for $5.

My brain immediately went to work and while I already have my own kiddos Valentines figured out {will share soon!} I thought these would be cute on a tag that read something like 'To an a-MAZE-ing Friend'....

LOVE these cute chalkboard jars for $3...

.....and I LOVE these LARGE glass jars as well.

These polka dot boxes in the $ bins were practically CALLING my name!

These tenny-tiny mailboxes would be SO cute to fill with little love notes for your kiddos or spouse the week of Vday.
{Also $1}.

Over at the Hob Lob ......

....you better believe I bought that big giant polka dot C.

Half off so only $8!
Score! It's going in my black and white bathroom.

I was also tempted to buy one of these...

Although those were a little more pricey {$29.99}
and not on sale.

Ready for a few tidbits of randomness?

I discovered this string quartet on Pandora and now I am obsessed with them.  They basically do pop songs - - but it's all instrumental. I am in love.

Listen HERE to one of my faves.

Has anyone tried these?
I was tempted.
They were at WinCo today and they looked right up my mint chocolate loving alley.

Why is this bedspread so hilarious to me?

Have a HAPPY weekend!
It's my husband's bday so we are doing LOTS of celebrating.
And by 'celebrating' I mean....eating out.

Sausage and Lentil Soup recipe.

Because I forgot to photograph this tasty soup
{we were too busy snarfing it down!}
this cute Throwback Thursday pic of London will have to do...

July 2013
She looooooves her some soup.
Even when it's 118 degrees outside in the middle of the summer. {I'm really not kidding.  It's her favorite 'food'}.

Anyhoozle...this recipe is bomb.

It's easy and super delish.

I even subbed the sausage for Jennie-O italian flavored TURKEY sausage {have you tried that? It's SO good!} and my fam didn't even know the difference.

Thank you Courtney for sharing it with me!

For those of you who eat at Carrabbas
{I always forget about that place when we're out!}
apparently this is a COPYCAT recipe of a soup
they serve there.

EnJoY!!!

SAUSAGE & LENTIL SOUP

1 pound Italian sausage
1 large onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
2 large carrots, chopped
1 small zucchini, chopped
6 cups of chicken broth
2 cans of diced tomatoes, undrained
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tsp. salt
2 cups dry lentil beans, rinsed

*Black pepper, oregano, parsley, basil to taste*

Brown sausage and drain off fat.  In a large pot combine all ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover.

Simmer for about 1 hour or until lentils are tender.  Add water, if necessary, for your desired consistency.

Sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese and serve!

Valentine Party ideas.

For the last few years...Joe and I have hosted a little Valentine dinner/party at our house with some of our friends.

I had high hopes of doing another one this year but with our upcoming Disneyland trip + other commitments...looks like we'll have to push it back to a St. Patty's Day get together.

Tonight I'm sharing with you some of my FAVORITE things from last year's bash:

{Warning: it's a good thing our friends have such a funny sense of humor...
 and don't get offended easily.}

Yes...our invites included a real live thong attached.
{I've never claimed to be classy so.....}

The places settings might just have been my favorite part...

Every party needs a favor....

Homemade Hot Fudge!

We also played a 'Not-so-Newlywed' game that created lots of hoots and hollars.

For even MORE details, photos and printables of this party you can click HERE and HERE.

Happy Valentines Season!!!

2fer Tuesday.

2 New Favorite Costco Finds:

This bread is DEE-LISH.
Doesn't even TASTE like it's all healthy-ish and stuff.
Totally filling and has a little crunch with the seeds on top.
Makes GREAT toast in the morning.
I LOVE it!

Also YUMMY!
I'm usually not a HUGE fan of strictly egg whites
{I like the yolk the very best!}
but these breakfast sandwiches are GREAT and with the cheese - - you don't even realize
you're eating an entire egg white.
{Plus - I really love turkey sausage}.

2 Things I Feel the Need to Share:

This movie is DARLING!

I took the kiddos to see it yesterday and I'll admit..I was a tad nervous.  I knew it was either going to be REALLY cute or SUPER lame.  Luckily for me...it was the first!

Both the kids AND I loved it.
Such a sweet, sweet movie.

We're taking the kiddies to Disneyland in a couple of weeks and I {yes I love it maybe even MORE than my own children} am super excited.

Today we implemented our DISNEY DOLLARS.
This is probably the BEST idea EVER.

It works like a charm.
You can read all of the details about it HERE.

School and Church Valentine Printables.

Teachers need LOVE too around Valentines Day.
{And a little sucking up never hurt anyone, right?}

Because our fam is such a huge fan of the movies....

...last year we gave out movie treats to the kids' teachers.
You can see all of the details + download my FREE printable HERE.

We also like to show some LOVE to the kids' CHURCH teachers as well...

This tag goes along with ANY treat {we baked sugar cookies} and you can see all of the details + download it HERE.

This Weekend:

* Friday morning I went out to breakfast with 2 of my favorite ladies on the planet.

And age aint nothin but a number because we sure have FUN together.

We tried a new little spot {new for us} tucked away into downtown Chandler.

Yoli's Cafe and it was YUMMY.
It's definitely a place you pull up to and think...'Ummmm?'

Food is homecooked and I loved it.
{Their french toast is to die for!}

 Plus.....

They have this cool outside patio and all around are these caged birds that can sing, talk, chirp...you name it.
  I wanna bring my kids back.  They'd LOVE it!

Afterwards, I ran a couple of errands and then picked up lunch for Carson {In and Out} and headed up to the school.

Carson, his 2 buddies and his fabulous teacher whom we adore.
 I sure love that my kids still want to be seen in public with me. I dread the day this ends.

Grant's class just so happened to be having a PIZZA party afterwards so I was able to sneek in some 4th grade fun
 as well.

Since I'm pre-arranging all of my kids' marriages {aren't you?} this is the little girl I've picked for him.  We LOVE her.
Aren't they cutest little friends?

* Friday night date night with my hubby.
We saw...
Image
...and it was so dang good.
Why the actor who played MLK didn't get nominated for an Oscar award is beyond me.  He was fantastic!

Afterwards, I introduced Joe to Mod Pizza.

To say he LOVED it was an understatement.
Oh, we'll be back!!
{Their Dominic pizza + chicken and artichokes is my fave}.

* Saturday Sports.
And it was a pretty BIG deal because....

Carson scored his FIRST GOAL of the season and...

Grant {#17} shot his first BASKET of the season.
{And yup....that's Coach Coombo coaching his team}.

After their games...the boys claimed that they were EACH each other's good luck charms and it pretty much melted my heart.

* Saturday night we stayed in and I made soup.
It was a new recipe {thank you Courtney!} and I'll definitely be sharing it on the blog later this week. SUPER delish.

* We tucked kiddies into bed and then watched
Kevin Hart on SNL.

Image
Why is he so dang funny?!
We pretty much laughed our heads off.

* Churchey-church on Sunday.
And just for the record....
 8:30 start time does NOT get any easier.

* Fat 3 hour nap afterwards.
{The only + of having early morning church}.

* AFV + cookies ends our Sunday evening.

Happy MLK Weekend.
{Go see Selma....it's a MUST!}
