SPRING PTO Teacher's Luncheon.

This lovely little luncheon was SO much fun to plan.
I had parents sign up on Facebook to bring all different types of salads: green, fruit, pasta, potato...

I purchased chicken salad from Costco, added sliced grapes and then put those on rolls, as well.

I covered the table in wrapping paper {my #1 favorite trick!} and purchased those cute striped plates from Hobby Lobby.

They're new in stock.
How do I know?
Well, I pretty much stalk the Hob Lob on a daily basis.

I found the fun SPRING banner at Target as well as the circle garland - - garland was on clearance for 90 cents!!!!
I could not pass it up.

These gold bottles might just be my new fave thing EVER.
I collected all different sizes and spray painted them gold.

Then - - to some of them  - - I added glue and gold glitter.
Stuffed em full of flowers and they were the perfect addition to the tables!

As for dessert....
Someone brought in the most incredible MOST DELCIOUS chocolate peanut butter trifle. I will be sharing the recipe SOON!

I made up little Strawberry Shortcake cups + Lemon Cake mIx cookies.  Remember when I blogged about those? They're my new go-to easy dessert
and everyone LOVED them!

Centerpieces in the teachers lounge.

My right hand woman - Chanda.
No we did not plan to match  each other and No we did not plan to match the color scheme, either.

I am SUPER DUPER happy to be guest posting over at the Jedi Craft Girl's blog as part of her.....

I started this fun little Easter tra-dish last year with my family {HERE} and I was thrilled to see that THIS year's focus was based all around SERVICE!

One of our family's very favorite ways to show random acts of servcie and kindness this time of year is by EGG-ing our neighbors.  To read all about it and download my FREE printable - - - head on over HERE.

This {Anniversary} Weekend:

* Friday we celebrated our 12th Anniversary.
We spent the morning in the place we love most
 {besides our own home}.

So blessed to have this BEAUTIFUL temple right down the road from us.  It brings Joe and I both so much peace and comfort each time we go.

* Afterwards we grabbed lunch HERE.

Their garlic cheese knots are in my top 5 fave foods EVER.
They are soooooooo good!
{And so is their SoHo salad}.

* That evening - the boys spent the night at my parents house and London went to Grandma Marilyn and Grandpa Scott's house to play.

She rolled hard in their Escalade and did NOT want to leave.
I don't blame her.

Meanwhile....Joe and I walked around an outdoor shopping mall and spent too much time in the bookstore.

True Crime = our favorite section.
It's like a good Dateline x 1000.

I added books to my list of 'To Read This Summer' list...

Anyone every read any of these?
They look juicy.

* We shared a burrito at Costa Vida, picked up London and then called it a night.

We are SO romantic.

* Saturday was spent ushering the kids around to birthday parties, etc.  Joe and the boys worked on their Pinewood Derby cars with Uncle Will while London and I headed to Grandma Lamoreaux's house to watch the

This was the first year that we watched it at home and I must say - - - it was rather nice.  I LOVED the messages from all of the speakers.  Such an emphasis on the FAMILY unit. I loved it when one speaker quoted Pres. Monson.....

"The home is the basis of a righteous life". - Pres. Monson

I also feel the need to share.....

...that it was 98 degrees outside when drove over to my parent's house.  98!!! And it's not even APRIL yet!!!
Yowzers, AZ.

* Churchey-church on Sunday.
We had such a terrific Sacrament meeting.

* 3 hour nap afterwards.
My kids didn't even come in once to wake me up.
It was blissful.

* Early Easter dinner/party at
Joe's parents house Sunday night.

We enjoyed:
*Gorgeous weather while eating outside
*Beautiful table setting from Grandma Marilyn
*Delicious {and I mean DELICIOUS!}
ham dinner with all the fixins
* Kids Easter Egg hunt
* Adult Easter Egg hunt {that got a little vicious. When there is a $20 egg at stake - - nothing is off limits.}
* Lovely devotional based around the Savior
 from Joe's parents.
*Delicious {and I mean DELCIOUS!} dessert.

We left feeling fed both temporally AND spiritually.
So grateful for my husband's side of the family.

12 things + 12 years.

Our anniverary cruise 2013

Today my hubs and I celebrate 12 years of marriage.
12!!!

1 apartment, 1 house and 3 cute kids later - -
we are as happy {if not HAPPIER} as we were
 on the day we got married.

{Probably a lot less naive...but still happy!}

As we spend the day together {festivities to follow on my weekend post} - - I feel the need to tell you...

TWELVE things you might not know about US:
{Unless you and I are super tight.  Then you might already know this stuff.}

1.  We see A LOT of each.
Like. A. Lot.

Joe works from home and I'm a stay at home mom sooooo....
Kudos to us for making it last this long.
{I kid...I kid.}

I love our 'day' dates and lunch times in the kitchen together.

2.  We're both night owls.
We stay up late and watch Jimmy Fallon and SNL mostly every single night/week.

3.  We die laughing at the silliest stuff.
Like THIS and THIS.
{We've seen those clips more times than I should admit.}

4.  Disneyland is our happy place.
I know - it sounds so silly and cheesy.
But it's true.
We LOVE going there!

5. We can't keep secrets OR suprises from one another.
We relate really well to THIS GIRL.

6.  We eat out way too much.
And by 'we' I mean...I get sick of cooking and Joe let's us go out. Such a champ he is.

7.  We were friends FIRST before we started dating.

8. We were 24 and 25 when we got married.

9.  We go on late night soda runs for each other.

10.  We have nicknames for everyone we know. EVERYONE!

11.  We have the complete opposite taste in music and movies. {Some day he'll come around and like my
teeny-boppin boy bands and chick flicks.}

12. We laugh A LOT together.
At each other - at other people - at our kids - - -
we LOVE to laugh.

Happy 12, my dear.
Here's to 12x12x12 more!

Easter Place Setting Ideas.

Joe and I have it really good when the holidays roll around.
Since both of our families live close by - - we luck out with always having a place to go to.
{Translation: I don't have to host it at my house}

I do however have a Pinterest board full of cute Easter hostessing ideas in case we ever need to
 step up to the plate.

Here are some of my favorite ideas:

Such a festive way to spruce up a white napkin!

Image and Idea

LOVE the simplicity of this tulip up against a colored napkin.

Image and Idea

Carrots, anyone?
I. LoVe!
{Not so Fun Fact: I'm allergic to raw carrots. Boo!}

Image and Idea
I'm always a sucker for monogrammed anything!
These monograms are just stickers. How simple!

If you're having a buffet for Easter dinner - this is the perfect way to label the food.  Use a felt tip pen/marker and just write on top of your already colored eggs. Convenient, no?

I think this is my favorite idea of all.
Easter cookie cutters filled with colored M&Ms.
How fun would that be on a plate?

2fer Tuesday.

2 Recipes You Really Should Know About:

1.Creamy Crockpot Pork Chops

But first.....
Image

Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks of Peter Brady from the Brady Bunch when I hear/think/see the word Pork Chops.  I was trying to explain it to my children the other day and they just were not gettin it.

This recipe makes the perfect Sunday dinner.
Quick. Easy. And in the crockpot.

We served ours with a side of Rice-A-Roni and veggies.

4-8 boneless pork chops
1 packet of dry Ranch seasoning
1 packet of dry onion soup mix
1 large can of cream of chicken soup

Add everything into the crockpot and cook on low all day.
{At least 6 hours.}

That's it!
You can thank me later. Or with a Diet Coke.

2. Bowtie Pasta with
Italian Sausage

Image
This one I discovered on a blog a couple of years ago and it quickly became a family favorite.  We made it tonight and I was reminded of just how much we LOVE it.

Thank you Lil Luna for sharing it with your readers!
View and Print recipe HERE.

2 Things that Make You Go Hmmmm.....

Why?
Why? Why? Why?

Has anyone tired this flavor?

Why mess with perfectly delicious Milano chocolate.

Image
The Churro Dog.

Baseball games are all the rage here in Phoenix right now.
{Spring Training}.

This creation is the latest dessert to be served at our
AZ Diamondback games.

It's a churro that's stuffed into a long john chocolate glazed donut topped with frozen yogurt, whipped cream and caramel and chocolate sauce.

Even my sweet tooth says YiKeS!!!

'Hoppy' Easter to some of my favorite

 internet PEEPS!

Sunday, March 22, 2015

This Weekend:

* I headed over to one of my favorite friends' house for a little Visiting Teaching breakfast.

That Cream Brulee French Toast was as divine as it looked.
I'm getting the recipe this week {Judy - I NEED this!} and will share it with you later.  It's a make ahead the night before recipe - - and those are the BEST!

* Afterwards I ran some errands and headed home to spray paint my guts out....

I can't WAIT to share with you what I'm doing
with these gold beauties.
{P.S. I used to HATE gold.  Now...I'm back in love.}

* Friday night date night with fun friends HERE.
This is SUCH a fun and unique little place tucked right back into the heart of downtown Chandler.  It's a definite must try.

Such a fun outdoor ambience.

* Saturday morning the kidlets and I headed to the movies.
I WON TICKETS!!!!

I never WIN anything {EVER!}.....and this week I just so happened to be the 14th caller into my fave radio station.
 I won advanced screening tix to go see...

....and it was DARLING!
My kids have been seeing this preview for months and they were over the moon excited.

As an added bonus....

....it was in 3D.
I never pay extra for 3D movies so my kiddos were pumped.

Breakfast of Champions.
{Hey - at least it has 'corn' in it and corn is a veggie so...}

* To balance out my nutritious breakfast afterwards...we made a Cafe Rio run and I vowed I'd NEVER do that on a Saturday again.

If I didn't love this salad so much - - I would not have waited.

But it was one of those things where you wait. And wait. And wait. And then you contemplate getting OUT of line....and then you think....gosh, I'm already so invested to this...it'd be a shame to miss out now.....so....45 minutes later, we ate.

* Saturday night we had all of the Joe's fam over for a picnic at a park right by our house. We really have to soak in this nice weather before the summer heat hits.

Cutest cousins.

So fun! and my kids came home pooped and ready for bed.

* I worked on orders for my Etsy shop.

LOVE making these little gems from home.

* Churchey-church on Sunday.
We sang THIS hymn in Sacrament and I was reminded of HOW MUCH I LOVE it!
{The line "Oh Savior, stay this night with me" - -
ALWAYS makes me cry}.

* Nap afterwards.
No interuptions either.
It was sort of like a Sunday miracle.

Pork Chops for dinner and then a fun friend surprised us with DESSERT afterwards!

************************************
I PICKED A WINNER FOR MY POGO PASS GIVEAWAY!
Was it YOU?
Check your emails.
{Especially if your name is Vicky!}

Side Note....this is totally my husband.

I saw this on FB and died laughing.
If my husband ever tells you this on the phone - this may very well be what he's doing.

Randomness.

*We've been sleeping in over here like it's nobodys business.

Next Tuesday, when the kids head back to school - - it's going to be a rude {sad} awakening.

{Also, how long do you think my boys will snuggle up like this when they sleep? I love it and it melts my heart everytime I check on them.}

*London got a haircut....

....and she now looks like Snow White's stunt double.

* Have you seen Cinderella yet?
{Please say yes.}

London and I are both a little bit miffed that the
 Lavendar's Blue song sung by Cinderella herself {Lily James} was NOT included on the soundtrack.  NOR...can we find it ANYWHERE for that matter.

We've settled for listening to THIS version at night.
London likes to hear it right before bedtime.
{So do I.}

* My boys are obsessed with Nike Elite socks.
Anyone else have kids obsessed with these?

Image

I'd love to hate em because they're so dang expensive BUT...I HAVE found that..... you get what you pay for with boy socks these days.

The Target and Wal-mart socks just don't cut it
around here anymore.
They ALWAYS get holes in em.

* Have you been to Crazy 8 lately?
I love this store.

They have the best shirts for little girls.
I picked up THIS one just today.
{Shopping with my kids ALWAYS costs me more}.

* We're having our missionaries over for dinner tonight.
We're grilling steaks and I made THIS dessert.
I'm secretly hoping we'll have leftovers so I can devour some more of it tonight as I watch Dateline.

It's all about Robert Durst and I am now fascinated with the whole thing.  I have yet to see the HBO documentary on him but it's on my list of things to do.

Although my husband tells me now that since I know the outcome of what has happened this past week - - it's ruined it for me.

* Speaking of TV stuff....

Image

Please oh PLEASE! tell me you saw this last night.
It's basically my 2 favorite people of all time
 on ALL of television.
Watch HERE.

And lastly...

I need/want this shirt.
