This Weekend:

* Friday morning my mom and I headed into Phoenix to visit one of our very favorite cake decorating stores.

I swear, this store has ANYTHING and EVERYTHING you need to make your baked goods look cute.

I LOVE their sanding sugar and needed to stock up for my upcoming Valentine sugar cookies.  They also have LOTS of cute packaging materials to deliver cupcakes, cookies and any other kind of baked goods you could think of.

Afterwards, we headed back to Chandler and ate lunch HERE. Locals: if you are ever near downtown Chandler you have GOT to try this little place out.

It's a teeny-tiny spot but they have THE BEST chili cheese dogs around.

Oh - and right next door is THIS place which we've never been to so we decided to poke our heads in and I discovered what might just be the world's BEST chocolate chip cookie EVER!

It was HUGE and only $1.25.

* Friday night I met up with some dear friends for dinner HERE
{If you're wondering...the answer is YES...I pretty much just ate my way through the entire day....}

We ate out on the patio and it was dreamy.
The food AND the weather.

AND the pizza cookie that I devoured with my cute friend.

* Saturday morning we had a basketball game for Grant.

* I updated my chalkboard with Valentine motif.

* I "tried" to teach London how to ride her bike.

About 10 minutes after this photo was taken, there were tears and the slamming of doors.

My almost 7 year old might just be the only girl in the 6th grade who doesn't know how to ride a bike by then.

* Did I mention that the weather has been GORGE here in AZ this weekend? Like 75 degrees GORGE. If you've never visited in the winter time - - you must!

* My cute friend dropped by the MOST DELICIOUS mint brownies that I've EVER tasted on Saturday afternoon....

They are absolutely blog worthy and I'll be posting the recipe this week sometime!

* Saturday night we headed over to Joe's sisters house to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday.

Funny story - - my cute sis-in-law entered a contest and WON! a pizza party from QT.

PC: Jenny--isn't she the cutest?

So grateful for Joe's family and for living near by.
And QT gas station pizza? Not bad! Not bad at ALL!!!

* Sunday morning we woke up to.....

...being TP'd by some really cute girls.

My kids thought it was hilarious and are already scheming our revenge.

* Churchey-church on Sunday.

Holy cow.  We had the BEST Sacrament meeting ever today.
Great talks and my cute friend sang THIS song and I was pretty much a blubbering mess through the entire meeting.

I definitely left feeling uplifted and inspired.
It was just what I needed.

Who else finds it hard to believe that tomorrow is already FEBRUARY??!?!

I'll be posting my NEW Visiting Teaching handouts for the month TOMORROW so stay tuned!

Fun Finds Friday.

Just a few finds today.....

Loving this metal canister set from Ikea.
{Oh polka get me EVERY. time.}

Love these wooden boxes in the $3 bins at Target.
They'd be cute filled with ANYTHING! Especially recipes.

Over at Hobby Lobby....
{their Vday stuff is already going fast!}

LOVE that they have PRE-MADE water bottle labels {24 in a package} all ready to go! And only $2.99 + 30% off right now.

Think classroom parties!

I also fell in love with this sign there.
Who else needs to GOOGLE this info - - ALL THE TIME in the kitchen? You'd think I'd have it memorized by now.

But I don't.

Have a GREAT weekend.
I don't know about you - - but I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow!!!

Elegant Chicken Recipe + Glazed Carrots and Peas.

Can we all just agree that you don't come to my blog for my awesome photography skills?!

I LOVE me some good recipes but photographing the food I make, just ain't my thang.

Just always KNOW though - - any recipe that I post on here -- is worth you trying.  Cross my heart.

Last night I brought dinner into a sweet family who had just had a darling little baby.

I love bringing in dinner to other people for 2 main reasons:

#1. It's any easy way for me do service
#2. It forces me to make GOOD food.
{Hehe. I tend to get lazy otherwise.}

Last night I whipped up a chicken dish that I had forgotten about.
And man I'm glad I re-found it.

It takes some prep but it is OH SO tasty.

Check out that yummy goodness just OOZING out of the inside.

I also tried a NEW recipe for carrots and peas.

I LOVE the combo of carrots and peas, don't YOU?

These ended up having the BEST flavor!

And let me know if you end up trying these out.

Elegant Chicken Rolls

3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
4 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup feta cheese
2 Tbs. fresh basil
1tsp. pepper
1/2 jar sliced, sweet roasted red peppers
1 cup Panko bread crumbs
1 egg
fresh spinach leaves
6 oz. thinly sliced proscuitto
{I subbed ham for the proscuitto just because it's a little cheaper.}

Heat oven to 375 degrees.  Pound out each chicken breast. {I always try and buy the thin chicken breasts so they're easy to flatten.}

In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, feta, basil and pepper.

Whisk egg in small bowl.

To assemble chicken roll, cover chicken with single layer of cheese mixture. Spread to within 1/4 of edge.  Top with a couple of spinach leaves. Then top with a few roasted red peppers and cover with a slice of ham or prosciutto. Roll up the filled chicken breast and secure with a toothpick.

Dip into egg and then coat with bread crumbs.

Bake for 30-40 minutes or until juices run clear.

Glazed Carrots and Peas

8 carrots, 1/2 inch thick
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. orange juice
2 Tbsp. butter
1 {10 oz} pkg. frozen peas
Salt to taste

Cook carrots in small amount of water for about 8 minutes or until tender but firm.  Drain.  Sprinkle with sugar and cornstarch. Add orange juice and butter.  Stir over low heat until thickened. Prepare peas according to package; be careful not to overcook.  Mix together with carrots.  Salt to taste.

2fer Tuesday.

2 Recipes Your Really Must Try Soon:

If you LOVE this soup from Olive Garden and you LOVE easy shmeasy recipes - - this one is for YOU!

It uses THESE yummy refrigerated hash browns so there's NO chopping involved.

My whole family LOVED it.
And if you're not a big fan of kale - - you could even sub spinach for that, instead.

Last night was my hubby's birthday...

His very favorite cake is YELLOW with chocolate frosting.
I used this chocolate frosting buttercream recipe and the cake was to die for.  I kept 'piece-ing' on it today and funny.....there's none left now. {Yikes!}

Locals! 2 Restaurants/Dives You Must Try Soon:
{Sorry outta towners. Both of these spots are in Queen Creek, AZ which is just a hop, skip and a jump away from where we live.}

On San Tan Blvd.

This one is definitely not a dive on the inside.
{Just looks like it from the outside}.

We went here last night for Joe's Birthday dinner {he had been here before, the kids and I had not} and O. M. G. their Chicago style pizza was TO DIE FOR!!!!

Like - - this is my new favorite pizza spot FOR SURE!!!

We also got their wings which were divine {a little pricey, but divine!} as well.  If you're not a Chicago pizza style lover, no worries - they have other styles.

It was SUPER DUPER yummy.

On San Tan Blvd. right close to Buddyz.

Ok this one is definitely a dive on the INSIDE and OUT.
But....Joe and I have discovered that THESE types of places usually have the BEST food around.

And it's TRUE with this place!

London and I happened to stop in today {she was home sick} for lunch and I'm not exaggerating when I say that their burrito is the BEST burrito I've had in a LONG time.
{Ooh...and their beans inside of it....YUM!}

Since moving to AZ over 15 years ago...I've sorta become a mexican food snob, thanks to my husband.

Their stuff is AUTHENTIC!
And they serve other stuff too like burgers, philly cheesesteaks, fries...etc.

If you can get past this place's appearance and the fact that it's also part gas station - - - LOCALS YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Classroom Valentines with FREE Printables.

This Valentine of London's from a few years back just might be my all time fave.

She was OBSESSED with all things Elsa, at the time.
{Not so much anymore.}

We paired it up with some Otter Pops...

And they were a hit!

Carson went through quite the MUSTACHE phase a couple of years ago and so these cards seemed super fitting.

And these cards of Grant's were just F-U-N!

This Weekend:

* Friday morning began with Grant breaking his glasses.
Luckily, it was a quick fix at Costco but it was a morning filled with tears, to say the least.

Once I had the glasses delivered back to Grant at school, that was followed up by a trip to the Scout store to buy Grant his new Boy Scout garb - now that he's 11!
{$70 later.....why is that stuff so dang expensive?!}

* A trip to Ikea was on my to-do list after that.

3 Things about Ikea:

#1. Their Sweedish meatballs are so. dang. good.
#2. Joe refuses to go inside Ikea. He LOATHES this store.
#3. Why do ALL of their shopping carts push sideways?!?

* London had a friend over afterschool and we enjoyed our gorgeous 70 degree weather by playing at the park.

So sunny and bright!
{Sorry friends in VA!! ;)}

* Dinner OUT with the kids at Popeyes.

Their chicken >>>>>> than KFC chicken.
We LOVE this place!

* Grant had his first basketball game of the new season on Saturday.

Grandma Lamoreaux gives the best post-game pep talks and hugs.  They lost miserably. Better luck next week!

* Saturday afternoon was spent filling Etsy orders.

So excited that Valentine's is just around the corner.

* Date night Saturday night HERE.

Joe's BIRTHDAY is tomorrow so we started the celebrations a little early.

Best people watching around.
We waited outside for a table inside for close to an hour and man we were entertained!

{Their steak + creamed corn is my FAVE!!!}

* Churchey-church on Sunday. cute are my primary kiddos?!?
We were missing 4 today!
{London included.  She's had a fever all day - BOO!}

* Joe and Grant headed off to Grant's Priesthood Preview on Sunday night.  So sad to have to miss it.
{Did I mention London's fever was 103.6!!!???}

Gosh I love them.
I cannot even believe that Grant will be 12!!! this year!

On tap for THIS week:

* Celebrating Joe's birthday - - he turns 38!

* Making Valentine cards for the kiddos

* Filling Etsy Orders

* Laundry. Why is this task a never ending one?! I almost despise it as much as I despise cleaning bathrooms.  And that's A LOT!

Testimony Handout.

Last night I was asked to speak to our ward Relief Society sisters on POLISHING our TESTIMONIES.

Our activity for the evening was a 'Spiritual Spa Night' and we had such a fun time together.

I've taught quite a few lessons on this very topic before and I felt as though my old handout needed a little makeover.

To download those these fresh new tags click HERE.
They're fun paired up with a little bottle of nail polish.

After I got done speaking last night, we had the opportunity to give ourselves a little manicure with all different colors of nailpolish to choose from. I wish I'd taken more pictures.

The only one I have is this one that someone else took - and I look completely GOOFY in it.

See. I told you.

One of my cute friend's taught a class on 'Masaging your Christ Like Love' last night as well and here is her adorable handout that she shared....

She centered her lesson around HANDS {get it? with the massage aspect?} and I just love what she came up with.

And guess what?
Since she's the best - - she's allowing me to share her handout as a FREE printable too!
{Just click on the photo below and save it to your desktop}.

She also said:

I based my thoughts off Elder Ballards talk "Finding Joy through Loving Service"

and Elder Uchdorf's talk "You are my Hands"

This video goes perfectly with the massage/hands theme
