2017 New LDS Items in my Etsy Shop!

I'm slowly stocking my Etsy shop back up with NEW items for 2017 and I'm super excited about it. Lots more to come in the next few days so be sure keep checking back!

If you're in Relief Society...I've got TWO different printables for you to choose from this year!

My bookmarks were such a big hit this past year that I've made em again....this time with a quote from Gordon B. Hinckley! {How excited are we that we'll be focusing on his teachings this year?!? He's an all time fave.}

These tags come with a set that says HAPPY BIRTHDAY at the bottom and a set that is left blank for you to write in whatever you'd like!

View details and purchase HERE.

My next Gordon B. Hinckley quote comes with Happy Birthday tags if you care to use them.  One set says 'from your Relief Society presidency' and the other set is left blank.

You don't even have to attach these tags to ANYTHING!
Put em in a card and mail em off..
Stick a magnet on the back for your fridge....
The possibilities are endless.

Lastly....we can't forget about the Young Womens organization.....

In need of birthday gifts this year?

Fill up a basket with all different kinds of candy bars and attach one of these tags to each one. Let the girls choose out their favorite candy when their birthday week rolls around.

New Years Ideas For the Whole Family!

I can't even begin to wrap my brain around the fact that there are only 2 days left of 2016. How is this possible?!? I know I say it all the time but...time has seriously GOT to stop speeding by!

Anyone have fun plans for New Year's Eve?
We are heading over to our friends house for some family fun. And by 'family fun' I mean....the kids all go off and play and the adults kick back and yack it up.

If you're hosting your own party or just laying low and staying are some of my favorite ideas for the big night from around the web-o-sphere.

A balloon clock! from The Suburban Mom
What kid doesn't LOVE popping balloons?!

Always make sure to have your kiddos fill out an end of the year form.  I always LOVE looking back at these thru the years.  This free printable is courtesy of Wonder Mom Wannabe.

Champagne glasses just for kids from Toddler Approved!
Let's be real honest though...these are MY kind of champagne glasses too!....{I don't drink alcohol}. A cupcake + suprises underneath?! Genius.

Speaking of about doing a Cupcake Fondue bar?! This idea comes from Hoosier Homemade. It's pretty much the best idea ever, in my book.

LOVE this idea for some little take home treats from
I think though to save time, I'd print out that tag and put it on a bowl with the kisses in it. That way people could grab some here and there all throughout the night.

In need of some yummy appetizer recipes to get you through the night? A couple of years back I shared some of my personal favorites HERE like this yummy Buffalo Chicken Dip....

...and these meatball pockets made with crescent rolls....

2fer Tuesday.

2 Things I Can Relate To:

True story.
To BOTH of these things.

2 Shows I Plan To Binge Watch This Break:

I LOVED the series Parenthood and I just KNOW I'm gonna love this one too.

Anyone seen this?
It's a mystery crime {and you KNOW I love those!} and originally aired on the BBC.

Any other suggestions???

Now that Christmas is over and we don't have a schedule for the next 2 weeks....I'm in ALL my lazy glory.

This {Christmas} Weekend:

Raise your hand if you're in a post Christmas coma today?

We had such a fabulous weekend but man, it pooped me out.  I went to bed last night at 7:30 pm!!! and slept until 9:30 am this morning! I will say though - - I loved every last minute of our festivities this Christmas.  I always get a little sad when it's all over with.  Here's to sitting on the couch all week and doing absolutely NOTHING!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
* Friday morning we met my parents for a quick breakfast over at McDonalds. {Fun Fact: my parents + my kids LOVE McDonalds breakfast. And I LOVE their Diet Coke so I guess you could say, it's a win-win for all involved.}

Carson looks SO MUCH like my dad when he was a kid.
I love it!

*Much needed haircuts for the boys afterwards...

* Friday evening was our annual Coombs family Christmas party and dinner at Joe's parents house.

It was magical, as always!

The kids acted out the nativity, we had our annual talent show and Grandma and Grandpa did their 'fishing pond' that the kids love so much!

So fun.  We look forward to it every year!

* Christmas Eve morning we decorated our gingerbread house.

We started this little tra-dish when the boys were itty bittys and it's one that the kids look forward to every year. was off to the movies...

It's a MUST SEE this Christmas break.
All the kids + adults LOVED it!

* Christmas Eve evening {say that 10 times!} was spent with the Lamoreaux's over at my parents house.

We feasted on a traditional ham dinner with all the sides, Aunt Tori read THIS book {SUCH a sweet little story!}, we had our annual cousins gift exchange as well as the adult gift card game...

And then we headed home to open up jammies and tuck the kiddies into bed. {Well, not really.  They didn't fall asleep upstairs until 11 pm.}

Santa came!

We were up at 5:30 am 😴 opening presents!

My side of the family came over for Christmas breakfast and to SKYPE my nephew Tyson who is serving a mission over in Spain!!!! {For those that don't know - - the only time a missionary can call home is on Christmas and Mother's Day. So it's a pretty big deal!}

He looked AWESOME {he's already gained 12 pounds he said, hehe!} and is doing such good work.  We are OH SO VERY proud of him!

Sausage & Egg casseroles + Cinnamon roll casserole + hashbrowns are how we do Christmas breakfast. So delish!

* Churchey-church on Christmas afternoon.

It was an EXTRA special day because Grant was ordained a Deacon into our church and he received the Priesthood.

I can't even believe that's he's 12!!!
{And doesn't he look sharp in his new suit?}

We are so grateful for our family members who came to be apart of this very special occasion.  Moments like this {plus thousands of others} make me feel SO blessed to live so close to our extended family.

* Dinner back at our house afterwards followed by finally sitting down for the first time all weekend on my couch and dozing off to sleep.  Hehe.

Such a great weekend.
Couldn't have asked for anything better.

Must Try Christmas Recipes.

Here's the deal-io.
I don't really like eggnog.
If I HAVE to drink it - - I prefer some 7up or Sprite mixed into it.
But I cannot and will not ever drink it just PLAIN OLE regular.

So if you're like me...guess what....
you'll still LOVE these recipes I'm sharing today.

It's sorta like an obligation I have to share these 2 recipes EVERY year with my readers.

They're THE. BEST.

Make em and they're sure to be a hit at your Christmas parties.

I promise.
{And have I ever led you astray? 😜}

Holiday Eggnog Punch

1/2 gal. eggnog

1/2 gal. peppermint ice cream, softened

2 liter 7-Up

Mix eggnog and softened ice cream until well blended.  Add

7-Up just before.  Mixture will be foamy.  Can be served with

a candy cane in each cup for decoration!

Eggnog Bundt Cake

1 yellow cake mix (preferably with pudding in the mix)

3 T. flour

2 c. eggnog

1/4 c. butter, softened

2 eggs, slightly beaten

1/4 tsp. rum extract

1/8 tsp. nutmeg

Beat until smooth and creamy.  Pour into greased bundt pan.

Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes.  Dust lightly with powdered sugar.

Caramel Sauce

1 1/8 c. brown sugar

1 cup butter

2 cups powdered sugar

1/2 T. cinnamon

2 cups rich vanilla ice cream

Melt together.... (yes, that includes the ice cream...I think

that’s what makes it so yummy)......over medium heat (couple

of minutes).  Pour warm over individual servings immediately

before serving.  I served mine with Peppermint Ice-cream

 and it was dee-lish!

This caramel sauce I could pretty much eat by the

spoonful.  It's sinfully delicious!

This Weekend:

* Friday was pretty blissful because I stayed home all morning and got things done around my house.

I had this bubbling on my stove all day....

...and it reminded me of my childhood at Christmastime.

My mom ALWAYS had a pot of this burning during the month of December. She also always had the Carpenters record playing on the stereo and now I love BOTH!

* Friday night Grant had a birthday party to attend so Joe and I took the other 2 kiddies out to dinner and to do some Christmas shopping for one another.

Seriously....why is Texas Roadhouse's Cactus Blossom so ridiculously good?

London was also quick to point out that the lady sitting directly behind us looked like Beverly Goldberg.

She couldn't have been more spot on!
{Side note: that show is our FAVORITE!!!}

* Grant had an early morning hip-hop practice on Saturday so while he did that, I headed to the nearest Goodwill. It was 50% off day and wasn't so sure what to think...

Bargains, for sure! but the people?!?

No joke - - the following is something I overheard a customer say to another customer:

"His leg got stuck in the conveyor belt and it ripped it right off!" 😁

Saturday lunch was spent at the grocery store with London.

Locals: Bashas has REALLY good stuffed quesadillas.
I promise.

* Saturday evening was spent wrapping presents {I'm seriously still trying to figure out where I hid everything!}

* Sunday morning London and I got to work making Christmas sugar cookies.

Can you even stand how cute she looks in those fake glasses of hers?!?

* Churchey-church on Sunday afternoon.
2 of my dear friends spoke and it did my heart good to hear their beautiful, heart felt testimonies.  We are surrounded by such good people in our lives.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
How is it even possible that Christmas is THIS WEEK?!

Looking forward to:

* Grant's 12th Birthday!!!
{yup I said that right...12th!}

* Decorating gingerbread houses

* The Coombs family Christmas party

* Lamoreaux family Christmas Eve

* R-E-L-A-X-I-N-G!
My Etsy orders are all shipped off, my Christmas shopping is DONE and we don't have one thing on our TO-DO list over Christmas break. I could not be more thrilled.

I told my husband that I plan to sit on the couch and watch Netflix for the next 2-3 weeks.
{Any suggestions on shows to watch?!}

Coombs Family Christmas Neighbor Gifts 2016.

This year's 'neighbor gifts' might just be my easiest YET!
And I feel extra good about that.

I've been up to my eyeballs with busy-ness and so these were the perfect little something to hand out to our friends.

The movie 'Elf' is our family's favorite.
We've probably seen it well over 100 times and we still die laughing at all the same exact scenes.
I couldn't pass up the opportunity to put a good Buddy the Elf line onto my tags.

These tags are available in my shop HERE and can be customized with your own family name.

Just download, print and attach to a roll of Tollhouse cookie dough.

Easiest gift ever.

And who doesn't wanna discover their inner elf this season, ya know?
