Christmas Day.

Our Christmas day began bright and early at 6:30 am.
{Had it have been up to our kids - - it would've begun
 at 4 am 😆.}

Santa filled the kids' stockings with the usual sugary drinks and candy.

Carson was sent on a scavenger hunt to find his pet turtle - - he's been wanting one of these for FOREVER!!!

The kids were pleased as punch with their presents as was Joe...

Did you ever see that one Goldberg's epiosde where all Murray wanted was an extra large white towel?

Well, that was Joe.
Ask and ye shall receive!!

After opening presents we headed over my sister's house for Christmas brunch.

Aren't those white shiplap chargers the BEST?!?

While waiting for my nephew to Skype us from Barcelona...we died laughing at videos on Youtube of people falling down on ice.
{Yup - we have no soul.}

Seeing my nephew who is serving a mission in Spain was the highlight of our morning.

He was BEAMING he's so happy there.
We are OH SO PROUD of him!

We headed home to let the kids play with their loot for a bit and then it was onto my parents house for Christmas dinner.

Yummiest dinner ever.
Ham off the bone, twice baked potatoes, broccoli cheese casserole, creamed corn, squash cinnamon casserole and not pictured....pretzel Jello salad, rolls and eggnog bundt cake.

The kids had their annual cousins gift exchange....

And my parents opened up their group gifts from us.

{Fun Fact: My dad is obsessed with Costco, hence the gift card. I'm pretty sure my parents go there at least 4 times a week. I'm not joking.}

We loaded up after dinner and headed to the movie theater to see...

YOU GUYS!!!!!!

It really was THE BEST.
The best message, the best music and the best dancing.
I would totally see it again!

Also worth noting for my locals:
The Chandler mall Harkins theater now has reclining seats and they are GLORIOUS!

Back to my parents house afterwards for dessert and one last game.

We laughed our heads off with this one.
It was the perfect way to end the day.

Christmas 2017 you did not disappoint!

Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve.
I just LOVED having it on a Sunday this year!

We headed to church bright and early...
{Only 1 more week of 8:30 am Sacrament and then it switches to!}

Our meeting was full of sweet testimony, beautiful music and people I love.

We headed home afterwards for the yummiest orange rolls and cinnamon rolls that a friend of ours had made.

Look at that yummy orange-y goodness!
I could've probably eaten ALL of them!!

* I spent the afternoon prepping for dinner.

This year we had my whole family over {minus my one sister and her family who were at their in-laws} and we had a Mexican feast.

Sweet pork tacos, red beef and green chile chicken tamales, homemade refried beans, cilantro lime rice, cilantro lime dressing, chips and salsa, mexican hot cocoa and the Lamoreaux famous oatmeal cake for dessert.

SOOOOOO yummy!
It was so fun to sit around the table, share stories and make each other laugh.

We played a 'Name that Christmas Carol' game...

Opened a few presents...

And then the kids opened up their traditional gift of Christmas jammies!

It was such a nice evening.

After everyone left, Joe and I poured ourselves a cold one {a Mormon cold one = Diet Dr. Pepper for me and Diet Mt. Dew for Joe 😂} and watched a Dateline.

We were in bed by 11:00pm! Earliest I think EVER!!

Our kids are getting to that age where there are less and less  toys and less and less to put together and I am AOK with that!

This {Christmas} Weekend {Fri // Sat}.

* Friday was Grant's 13th birthday!!!

{I really can't believe I have a teenager! I honestly feel like I was just 13 myself!}

We celebrated by:

* Opening presents on the decorated kitchen table,
per tra-dish

* Breakfast of Grant's choice: sausage scramble, hashbrowns and biscuits

* Shopping at the mall - - Grant is at that age where all he wants is giftcards and clothes 😏

* Dinner with family at Smashburger {Grant's choice!}

Such a fun day celebrating him!!!

* On Saturday it was time to slow down, regroup and breathe before the next couple of busy days.

Joe and I went here...

I wish I could accurately describe to you how I feel about this special place. The peace that comes to me and my family by regular attendance is something I could never buy for Christmas.

* Saturday night was our annual
Coombs Family Christmas Party!!!

Everyone brought an appetizer and my in-laws made ham and potatoes.  So YUMMY!

We had a special little program that Joe's mom had prepared. It was so sweet and so special. She always puts so much time and effort into these things and we are so blessed because of it.

We had our annual Coombs Cousins talent show...

And I don't mean to brag but....
The Coombs Cousins have got it goin' on!

We ended the night by dying our heads off laughing at Jenny and William's new family Christmas video.

Talk about talent!

This Weekend:

* Friday morning I dropped the kiddies off at school and took Cubby to the groomer.

His 'butt feathers' were outta control.

I stopped for breakfast...

I think I've said this before but...I could eat here EVERY morning if I knew I wouldn't gain 5,000 pounds.

Favorite.  Ever!

The rest of my day was spent shopping.
Christmas shopping.

And after running from one side of town to the other - - I came home and ordered everything else online.😂

Why do I do this to myself?
Why do I loooove 'the hunt'?

I swear if I can save a buck or two it makes me giddy but let's be honest - - ordering online is by far the BEST and EASIEST way to go!

* Picked up Cubby afterwards...

SO handsome, right?

* Friday night was Grant and London's dance recital.

We stopped for some pre-dance fuel with our sweet friends who came with us...

Sometimes I just want to squeeze London...

She was born to be on stage.

She and Grant rocked it and I couldn't have been more proud.

How lucky are we that BOTH sets of grandparents live close and were able to come and support our kiddos?

Afterwards, we celebrated the night with dinner at the mexican gas station.

We like to keep things classy.

* Saturday morning I took Carson out Christmas shopping for his siblings.

I sure love one on one time with my kids.

It's SO fun to see them meticulously pick out presents for their siblings.

* We met up with my dad later at Sams Club.

Yup - London was rockin her footie pajamas.
It was one of those days.

* Churchey-church on Sunday.

It was cloudy, rainy and delightful.
We don't get many days like this {thankfully} so when we do - it's a real treat!

Another great quote on our Sacrament program.
I love it!

* I made up a big pot of soup on Sunday night for dinner.

It hit the spot.
Why do I love soup so much?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Cannot even believe Christmas is one week from today.
I need to start wrapping.
And wrapping.  And wrapping.
