This Weekend:

* Friday morning breakfast out with 2 of my favorite ladies.
We ate HERE - it's also one of my favorites.
Their chorizo gravy and biscuits are so scrumptious.
{And obviously...super healthy, too 😆}

* Afterwards, I ran a few quick errands and popped into Kirkland's.  Haven't been in there in forever.  Such cute stuff.

I have way too many chalkboards. Otherwise I would've snagged this one right up. Isn't it cute?

Also this.
Teacher friends: you need this! How fun to hang this up in your classroom and write the kiddos names on it when it's their special day.

* Date night Friday night at the OG.

Joe looks like he's having serious thoughts towards his Pasta Fagioli soup, right?😜

It was a blistering cold night and their soup and breadsticks HIT THE SPOT.  We split the Tour of Italy sampler and who knew their lasagna was SO good?

{Fun fact: My son Carson would rather eat his own toenails than eat lasagna. But he LOVES spaghetti and meatballs, so go figure.}

* Saturday morning basketball game for Grant.
First one of the season and they lost 👎 but Grant got a bucket and was pretty pumped up about that.

Sonic afterwards for lunch and treats and then somehow I managed to actually take a nap! on Saturday afternoon!
{It was definitely risky...seeing as how my kids were left in charge of Cubby but...they managed! No pee or poop anywhere when I woke up so, SCORE!}

* Saturday night we kept it classy and ate at the mexican gas station for dinner. London was at a friend's house and so we killed some time at Target before picking her up.

I was quickly reminded as to why I love going to Target BY MYSELF! 😂

Not such a relaxing shopping trip, if I'm being honest.

* Sunday was a marathon day of church and visiting other wards. I sure love it when this song comes on when I'm getting ready for the day....

It speaks to my heart.

More ward conference lessons in Relief Society and gosh, I love this quote that we get to share.  I feel like women! - - we need this MORE THAN EVER!!! The world NEEDS us!!!

Family selfie when I finally got home.
Love these green bands that are in support of one of our dear friends battling cancer.

* We had Joe's brother and his wife over for Sunday dinner.
My kids LOVE having people over and that makes my heart happy.

Roast, mashed potatoes, carrots and onions, butt rolls and another batch of THESE for dessert.

{YuM-a-LiSh} Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe.

It's been COLD here this week.
Really, really COLD.
{High 50s and to us AZ wimps...that's COLD!}

I always love baking when it's extra cold outside.
Yesterday, I wanted a yummy afterschool treat for my kiddos
{and let's be honest...something yummy for myself!} and so I whipped up this family recipe.

I had forgotten just how tasty these cookies are.
Carson, the pickiest eater in our house, said he wanted me to make MORE this weekend.

Hope you enjoy them as much as we did!

Marci's Oatmeal Chocolate Chippers

1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening {Crisco}
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. oatmeal
1 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease cookie sheet.

Beat shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Add flour, baking soda, salt and oats.  Mix in chocolate chips.

Roll into balls and place on cookie sheet 2" apart.

Bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.

2fer Tuesday.

Holy cow you guys!
Puppy training is no joke.

I feel like I've gotten absolutely nothing done this past week.  I think my husband thinks I'm joking when I tell him that ALL I do is take Cubby out to go potty.

And the kicker is....I'm POOPED from it all!

I really can't complain because Cubby is a very good little puppy. {Still no poop in the house and he's getting the hang of the crate!}. I just feel like I have to keep my eye on him right now ALL THE TIME.

Side note - - how do you get rid of doggy breath?
There has to be something, right?
Sometimes when he breathes in my face - - I almost pass out. {Ok, not really but you get the idea.}'s my 2fer Tuesday just a day late...along with pretty much everything else that's been due this week.

2 Things That Make Me Go Hmmmm...

A) Who buys this stuff and B) Why?!?!
Are you trying to torture your pet on purpose???

Yesterday I took Cubby into the vet for the first time.
This sign was hanging on the door.

Alternative medicine for a pet?
I know I'm clueless but...does this involve marijuana???
LoL 😂

2 Funny Valentine Ideas:

Seriously funny, right?!?

And I'm not going to name any names BUT....I need to get this card for the person I share a bed with.
{'s bad.  And stinky.}
True love at it's finest! ;)

This Weekend:

* Friday started out at Goodwill.
I needed an hour to myself and this place is very therapuetic to me {so weird, I know}.

Something not very therapuetic?

Finding a half eaten corndog in your shopping cart with used mustard packets.  Goodwill is nasty on so many levels.
Why do I love it so much?
Just. Why???

I thought of every reason in the book to purchase this leg lamp from 'A Christmas Story' but I just couldn't come up with any excuses at all.  For only $7.99 though I should've just gotten it and stashed it away for our next white elephant gift exchange, right?

I did score myself some knobby milk glass vases in the end for only $1.49 each so seeing that nasty corndog in the beginning might have just been worth it afterall.

Lunch HERE with these cute ladies Friday afternoon.
Love them to pieces.
And how absolutely scrumptious is my friend's baby?

* Friday night was our elementary school's first annual Daddy Daughter dance.

London got ready like 2 hours early she was SO excited.

These 2 had SO MUCH FUN!!!
London wanted to dance the ENTIRE night away.

It was fun for me because I got to help at the dessert table and witness it all.  I can't say enough good things about our school, our PTO, the teachers and staff there and the parents in our community who go above and beyond at making events like this spectacular.  We are truly blessed to live where we do.

I snuck out a little early from helping at the dance and picked up my boys for a little 'mother/son' ice-cream date.

DQ for the win!
I love these 2 and their easy going, hilarious personalities.

* Saturday morning we finally gave Cubby his first ever bath.

He wasn't too sure about it.

* Date night Saturday night at our very favorite Chinese food restaurant in Chandler.

Egg drop soup on a cold, winter night is my very fave.
Reminds me of a yummy chinese restaurant back in VA where I grew up {NOVA peeps: Hunan West! It will always have my heart}.

* Church meetings all day Sunday.

I taught another lesson and shared this quote that I just love:
"If you have not heard His voice speaking to you lately, return with new eyes and new ears to the scriptures."
-Elder Robert D. Hales

* Sunday afternoon we attended London's GREAT TO BE 8 program. This is a short little meeting where all of the 7 year olds get together and their leaders talk to them about getting baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints.

London is SO very excited.
I, myself, am still in denial that she is turning EIGHT this year!!!!

* We had my brother over for dinner on Sunday night.

He came to meet Cubby and I'm pretty sure that he is smitten.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
On tap for this week:

* Grant's hip-hop crew performs at a highschool basketball game half time!!!!! Be sure to follow me on Instagram {azmarci} for footage.

* Joe's BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
Locals - - any fun ideas besides the usual freebies?

* Prepping for a little adult Valentine shin-dig...can't wait to share some of the details.

Fun Finds Friday {on Saturday} and a Puppy Update!

* Wal-mart has some pretty cute Vday stuff right now...

I know all the tweens are big on bath bombs these days {at least that's what my nieces tell me}. Thought these Hershey kiss shaped ones were cute.

Loving these little mini favor mailboxes, too.

Teacher friends! You need this!!
Wouldn't it be so fun to have every kid fill out a heart with something that they LOVE about the person they sit next to?

And because you KNOW I'm such a sucker for a cute banner...

How can your resist 98 cents?!?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
And now...for a Cubby update!
{Because I'm sure you've all just been on pins and needles, wondering how we're doing over here, right? LoL.😂

This little one has pretty much stolen our heart.

He has yet to poop inside of our house {score! and knock on wood!} and just yesterday HE SLEPT THRU THE NIGHT!!!

I feel like such a proud momma bear, haha.

One of my friends said it best when she said:
"Having a puppy is like having a newborn.  Except you can leave it for a couple of hours at a time."

Cubby is VERY mellow {we have yet to hear him bark} and pretty much just chills by my feet if I'm cooking in the kitchen...

Or on my lap if I'm typing on my computer or watching T.V.

I do feel like 90% of my day now is spent in my backyard waiting for him to pee or poop.😆

There is NO way I could train a puppy with little kids still at home during the day.  I sorta feel like my kids are at the perfect age for him right now.

It's nice to be able to send the chaos  them off to school each day and focus on training Cubby and getting a schedule sorta set up with him.

And then...the BEST that they are on poop duty when they get home.  Their first chore afterschool is to pickup his poop in the backyard from the day. Because let's be honest - - POOP GROSSES ME OUT.

Is he not the cutest?!?!
We sure do love him.

Puppies are definitely a lot of work but I feel like we hit the jackpot with Cubby!

Ward Conference Scripture Handout.

I've been up to my eyeballs in all things PUPPY this week!
We got out our sweet little Cubby {the kids voted to not change his name to Cosmo -- and keep it Cubby which I LOVE!} on Monday.

Thank you for your messages asking about how it's all going!
I'll have a full re-cap tomorrow for sure.
{Who knew a puppy would suck so much time out of me? LoL 😛 I've barely gotten anything done this week!}

I've gotten a few requests for a copy of my handout from this past weekend...

Oh so happy to share!
We are using it in our lesson to all of the Relief Society sisters but a few of you had said you'd like to use it in Primary and Young Womens as well.

I didn't even attach it to anything {but you could!}
I just cut them out {there are 4 to a page} and then placed them in a basket for everyone to take with some HEART shaped chocolates - - which are very easy to find right now with Valentine's Day just around the corner.

This Weekend:

* Friday morning was perfectly cloudy with some off and on rain.  Us 'zonies LOVE the rain.

I took my laptop to Panera and got some work done while eating a breakfast of champions.... {not really}

Their little egg souffles are my new favorite.

* When I headed home to start working around my house I got word that the puppy that we wanted to adopt...was really actually going to happen.

Is he not the cutest?!?
He's only 8 weeks old.

I ran to the store to get some fun things to surprise the kids with...

...and their reaction when they got home from school was priceless! {If you follow me on social media, you know that...London burst out into tears when she found out! She is soooo excited!}

* How gorgeous is this sunset from Friday night?

AZ sunsets are pretty much the best in the world.

* Date night at Someburros...

...and then on to see the movie....

Oh. My. Gosh. !!!!
You guys! I loooooooved this movie.
Like....SO SO SO much!

I found myself smiling through each musical number.
From ear to ear.

The music and dancing was AMAZING and Emma Stone and Ryan Gossling were oh so charming.
{Ya, they're not the BEST singers on the planet but that's what made me love it EVEN MORE!}

I used to be just a tiny, smidgen of a fan of Ryan Gossling before this movie.  Now? My love for him is HUGE.

I would totally see it again.

* Our Saturday morning breakfast at McDonalds went like this:

Carson ate London's hash brown....

London choked on her Mcmuffin from crying so hard....

And then London stormed off because she was so mad.

Oh and this all happened when I was trying to get one {just ONE!} pic of them all smiling together.  Oh well.

* Saturday night date night at the temple.

This place >>> everywhere else.
Such a great night there.

* Churchey-church on Sunday.
As part of my calling, we get to visit all of the other wards in our stake during their ward conferences and teach their Relief Society lessons.

{This is one of my FAVORITE parts of my calling - - getting to know ALL of the different sisters in our stake}.

For a handout I whipped up these little cards to go along with our theme...

And of course, chocolate was a must!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Wish us luck tomorrow.
Ready or not....a puppy is coming home with us!
Prayers welcome ;)
