London's PUPPY Party!

London's PUPPY themed party went off without a hitch last weekend which is saying A LOT because...she invited 22 little girls and all 22 girls were able to come!

Thank goodness for NICE weather and being able to have the majority of the festivities outside 😆.

This little shin-dig was SO super fun to plan.
For those's how it all went down...

When the girls first arrived, I had them 'Pick a Bone' off of our wall.  Prior to their arrival I used my Silhouette machine to cut out 22 bone shapes onto cardstock.  I numbered each one on the back {from 1 - 22} and stuck them right onto my wall.

The number that they chose, was the number that they were in line to 'Adopt a Puppy'. {Also, as they picked their bone, I made sure to write their names on it so that no one would forget}.

Once I started calling out numbers, each girl got to come to the cage and pick which puppy they wanted to adopt.

I ordered these cute little stuffies from Amazon and then just jazzed them up a little by tying a ribbon around their necks.

It was so fun for the girls to watch each other 'adopt' their puppies and see which one they chose.

Once they had their puppies...we had 3 different little stations for them to go to.

They decided on names for their puppies and then made dog collars for them.

I had cut 22 pieces of waxed twine beforehand and then purchased alphabet beads from the $ store.

They were able to thread thru the beads and then tie these right onto their puppy's necks.

I purchased gable boxes from Hobby Lobby and the girls decorated those with stickers and markers as 'dog houses' for their puppies.

I also created these certificates and then my niece filled them in with her fancy handwriting as each girl came up to her table.

I created a backdrop for our food table with:
White wrapping paper, a striped border, paper fans and then bones, dog silhouettes and font all cut out from my Silhouette.

I was pretty pleased with how it turned out.

We had a 'Build Your Own Dog' bar...

The girls got to choose which puppy they wanted which corresponded with what type of hot dog they wanted.

Joe and I helped them thru the line with this process and then they got to choose a variety of different PUPPY themed snacks to go with their 'dogs.

This menu was actually GREAT because mostly everything was store bought with the exception of the sugar cookies that I made up the night before.

Our 'Toilet Water' consisted of blue Hawaiian Punch.

My cute friend made our 'Pup-cakes'!
Those are marshmallows as the paws - so clever, right?

The girls 'woofed' down their food {I couldn't resist} and then it was onto opening up presents.

This party was an hour and a half and that amount of time was just perfect!

As party favors we handed out...

Doggy Bags filled with Cocoa Puffs.

The girls thought it was SO cool that they got to eat this special type of dog food with their puppies 😜

How is it possible that my puppy loving daugher is 8 now?!

This Weekend:

* Friday was all about the party prep for London's puppy themed birthday party.

We had 22 girls over on Friday afternoon and I can't wait to share ALL of the party details with you tomorrow!

London was pleased as punch with the whole thing and I was completely pooped afterwards. 😜

It was A LOT of fun and her 22 little friends were oh so cute.
8 year olds are the best!

* Saturday morning was filled up with basketball tournaments for Grant.

* We hit up Costco afterwards...

...and let's just say I remembered, yet again, why I try to avoid this place on the weekends.

* Date night on Saturday night with some of our favorite friends.  We ate HERE and then headed onto our Stake Conference meeting.

Wait.  Your husband doesn't tuck his napkin into his collar to avoid rib stains on his clean white shirt??

My husband has no shame.
And I sorta love it.

* Sunday morning I was in charge of feeding our wonderful Stake Presidency breakfast, in between their Stake Conference meetings.

We served quiche, hashbrowns, fresh fruit and the best orange rolls in town.

* Post Stake Conference nap.
3+ hours.
I was WIPED from all of the activities this weekend.

* London and I got some of her cute little baptism invitations ready to deliver and send on Sunday afternoon...

...and then we grilled burgers for dinner and the kids played outside with one of London's new birthday presents.

The Wubble Bubble Ball.
Their minds were blown with this thing 😆

FUN St. Patrick's Day Breakfast.

A few years back, I helped host a little St. Patrick's Day breakfast for the sweet teenage girls in my church.

It's one of my favorite things that I've ever done, I think.

My dear friend and I planned everything out from the place settings...

to making sure our cinnamon rolls had GREEN frosting.

I've got LOTS of details all about it HERE.

Someone posted the other day on Facebook:

I could not agree more!
I might just take this up as my new motto.

2fer Tuesday.

2 St. Patrick's Day Ideas Worth Sharing:

These Top o' the Morning Pancakes from Betty Crocker.
My kids' heads might explode if I made them for em because hello!?! JUST the marshmallows from the Lucky Charms???

That's pretty much their fave thing of all time.

Pinch Proof Punch tags from My Sister's Suitcase.

This one has Carson's name written ALL over it.
No joke - when he was little and he didn't get his Gatorade {he's never been a big milk drinker and yes, we buy the G2 to cut back on the sugar} we would say 'watch out...he's gone into a Gato-RAGE! 😂

2 Things I LOVE Right Now:

Locals: If you like good mexican food THIS is the place for you. Their chips and salsa + their Flying Saucers are my FAVORITE!!!!

They just opened up THIS WEEK so go over and show them some love.  It's a beautiful restaurant. You order at the counter and then they bring the food to you. Oh and how could I almost forget....their Diet Coke is hands down the best.

It's located on the NW corner of Higley and Baseline.
And guess what? Tonight it's TACO TUESDAY!!!

THIS song by Andy Grammar.
Love Love LOVE.

This Weekend:

* Friday morning started out with a dr's checkup for Grant.

We met up with Joe afterwards for a quick breakfast HERE.

Nothin like chips and salsa in the morning time, right?😜
{Us Coombs could eat it any time of they day.}
Their breakfast burritos are a MUST.

* Grant and I swung by my favorite local bakery... pick up some treats for some people before bringing him back to school.

*Grant had a basketball game on Friday night.

He was pretty much on fire and scored a total of NINE points!

Afterwards, we let him pick a place {any place!} that he wanted to go and get dessert.

He chose....

...the local gas station that just opened up right by our house.
I was thinking...Baskin Robbins, Dairy Queen, Sonic....
but the gas station it was!

* Saturday morning we woke up bright and early to go over and help clean our church building.

I'm not gonna lie - - I dreaded waking up EARLY on a Saturday. But I felt OH SO GOOD afterwards about the service we rendered for our beautiful church.

We are SO blessed to have such a wonderful building to go to each week.

* Chores, chores, chores on Saturday afternoon followed by date night for Joe and I.

So super bummed. We had planned to go and see the movie 'Lion' and when we got there, the show was ALL SOLD OUT.

Granted, we could've tried another theater but....
it was 50 degrees outside and rainy and I was way too freezing to try it again. {I know, I'm a wimp!}

We settled for dinner at BJs and their dessert mint chocolate chip pazookie almost made up for the fact that we didn't get to see our movie.

* Churchey-church on Sunday.
It was just the spiritual uplift I needed.

In Relief Society, our teacher showed THIS short little video and of course I cried like a baby.

It was all aboutFaith.
Such a difficult at times thing yet such a NECESSARY action needed in life.
