This Weekend:

* Friday morning kicked off with Carson's 5th grade State Fair.

I LOVE that their school does this!
Each child researches a state and then at the 'State Fair' displays said research and then brings a food item coinciding with their state.

Oklahoma = corn muffins, bytheway.

Lucky for me - - - later that afternoon - - Grant had his 6th grade World Fair!

Same idea but with countries.

Chile = Tres leches cake

I basically just ate my way through the U.S and World on Friday without even having to leave my town. 😂

In between fairs....I was at home making cupcakes for a dear friends' bridal shower.

These were piña colada flavored and since I had some left over....i popped some umbrellas in em to fancy em up a little and brought the rest up to the sweet front office ladies at the school.

Also worth noting - - while making my cupcakes, my dear friend dropped by just because and brought me my favorite beverage + a treat she just KNEW I'd love!

Gosh, I love my friends!
{And 2 thumbs up to the Butterfinger/Pb cup combo!}

* Friday night date night.
I met my hubby out at his new store...

It's getting closer and closer to being finished and I am SO excited for him! Also - - I want that white kitchen with the ginormous fridge/freezer combo.

Lucky for us, he's just down the road now from one of our VERY FAVORITE burger joints.

Their menu basically consists of 3 things: a burger, fries and shakes.  So how can you go wrong?
{If you go - - always get The Stand sauce to dip your fries into. It's a must!}

I'm not even kidding when I say that I DREAM about their banana shakes.  They are DEE-VINE!!!!

* Saturday morning donuts with this crew...

We headed over to my church building afterwards so that the kids could play basketball while I practiced the organ for Sunday.

Yup, you heard that right.
For those of you who have ever played it before...YOU KNOW that it is WAY harder to play than the piano.

* The rest of the our Saturday was spent doing chores, eating mexican gas station food for dinner and making homemade salsa {sharing recipe soon!}

* Churchey-church on Sunday.

When I read that part about angels...I get goosebumps.
I just LOVE this quote and promise.

* I survived playing the organ and then headed into primary where I filled in for our singing chorister.

It was so fun.

I love going in there.
I'm sharing my ideas for singing time later this week!

Sharing time was so cute.

London got to be blindfolded and then led by the 'Holy Ghost' to find something.  I'm sure grateful for my childrens church leaders and the efforts in which they take to make learning about the Gospel FUN and MEMORABLE.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

On tap for this week:

All 3 kids are in it this year and they are OH SO excited!
I love that my kids have confidence and aren't afraid to get up in front of people.  Makes my 💜 happy.

* Enjoying every last drip of alone time before school gets out for the summer NEXT week. 😂

Patriotic Decor + Place Setting Ideas.

How on earth is it already the MIDDLE of MAY?

Memorial Day is just another week away and then before we know it...we'll be celebrating the 4th of July!

I know I say this ALL the time but...
Time really does need to S-L-O-W down.
Who's with me?

I've begun putting out my patriotic decor for the summer.
I love that this stays up clear thru Labor Day.

Need some inspiration?

Here are some of my favorite ideas from around the web:

LOVE these painted jars from Maison de Pax.
They'd make any coffee or kitchen table look cute!

The people from The Scrap Shoppe spray painted white doilies to get this look but I'm almost positive that if you searched on Amazon, you could find already colored doilies.

These water bottles from Better Homes & Gardens are pure genius.  All you need is a plan 'ole water bottle and one of those small flags that you can find just about anywhere right now.  Tape the flag around your waterbottle and you have the cutest labels ever!

I'm inviting some peeps over for Memorial Day and I'm thinking I may just have to try out these Firecracker Jell-O Cups from Cincy Shopper.

Don't they look yummy? And festive?

Do you obsess over decorating tables?
Here are a couple of my tablescapes from years past....

2fer Tuesday.

Each of these little packages comes with tiny cookies or pretzels that you use to dip into the yogurt.  {Their banana yogurt is the bomb!}

Joe introduced me to this on Mother's Day and all I can say is MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN!!! I wonder if I brought one of these to Dairy Queen - if they'd make a blizzard for me with it? Seriously SO good!

I love this quote.
I wanna shout it from the rooftops.

My lunch today.

In an effort to eat healthy{er-ish} lunches...I saw this recipe online and then made it my own.  It was super tasty. Here's what it consisted of:

1 can of tuna with water, drained
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1 cucumber chopped
Chopped onions {however much floats your boat!}
1/2 can of corn
Salt & Pepper to taste

Mix this all up and serve with crackers or tortilla chips.
Have you ever had THESE? They would be PERFECT with this concoction. {I used toasted Wheat Thins}.

This {Mother's Day} Weekend:

* Friday morning I woke up with big ambitions to do house work, laundry, etc.....but then I remembered it was Mother's Day weekend {for cryin out loud} and decided that it was AOK if I went shopping instead. 😜

Walking around Home Goods with no objective is one of my very favorite things to do.  And how dang cute are these succulent place card holders from there?!?

My shopping excursion was cut short when one of my children {who shall remain nameless} called me from school saying that they had forgotten something at home and needed me to bring it up. 😳

Instead of getting mad, bugged and irritated {per usual}....I kindly went home, picked up said item, dropped it by the school....and then thanked my lucky stars that I have KIDS who NEED me! I followed this up by stopping at Sodalicious and rewarding myself with this:

This combo just DOES it for me, ya know?

* Friday afternoon/evening was spent celebrating Carson's birthday with a few friends HERE.

This place is a MUST if you are local.
I'm thinking of taking my kids there this summer at least once a week.

Pizza, cake and presents back home afterwards...

Joe and I topped the night off with a Dateline - you know cause we're romantic like that.

* Saturday morning consisted of donuts.

I worked away in my craft room for most of the afternoon doing this and that + making my friend a wreath...

All she told me was that she wanted something PINK and with LEMONS and I think this may be my favorite wreath, yet.

* Date night Saturday night HERE.

I swear I crave this place like once a year.
It's super yummy and I LOVE the cute little store attached to it.

Also worth mentioning: Joe and I were the youngest couple there by at least 20 years.  LoL.

* We shopped around afterwards and as soon as I saw this sign, I took a pic and sent it to my mom.

This sign is TOTALLY ME!
I loathe ironing.
My mom on the other hand, irons EVERYTHING!
Including pillowcases.

* Mother's Day on Sunday started out with Grant giving his very first talk EVER in Sacrament meeting.  I was SO proud of him. He wrote his talk entirely by himself and I'm pretty sure I was beaming the entire time.

My fingers are CROSSED that London wants to match me on Mother's Day for the rest of her life.  I love this little tra-dish we have and dread her teenage years when this probably won't fly. 😅

* We headed over to my sister's house afterwards to SKYPE with my nephew who is serving a mission in Barcelona, Spain!

For those that don't know....LDS missionaries are only allowed to call home 2 x a year.  On Christmas and on Mother's Day.  So it's a PRETTY BIG DEAL.

We are SO proud of this kid and the good he is doing.

* We headed over to Joe's parents house afterwards to visit.

I don't care HOW big my kids get - - they will always love playing with legos, blocks and these thing-a-ma-bobers.

I just know it!

* Dinner at my parents house.
We tried to talk my mom out of cooking but she insisted and not only did she insist but she made my favorite meal EVER.

Roastbeef and gravy with cooked carrots, dreamy mashed potatoes, rolls and watermelon.

P.S.How on earth did I forget to take a pic of me and my mom on MOTHER'S DAY!?!
