The BEST Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe EVER.

Well, my cute friend offered to help make something to lighten my load and so I assigned her to bring chocolate chip cookies.

Little did I know.....
these would be the BEST chocolate chip cookies EVER!

For reals.
Ask anyone who was here.

She's been EVER so kind to share her recipe with us.

You need to make em this weekend.  I promise you won't be disappointed.

Choose the Right

3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1  egg
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. all purpose flour
2 tsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chocolate chips

1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2.  Cream together butter and sugars until fluffy and light in color. Add egg and vanilla and blend in.

3.  Mix in flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt. Stir in chocolate chips.

4.  Using a cookie scoop, drop dough onto a prepared baking sheet.  Bake for 8-10 minutes, until barely golden brown around the edges.  (The tops will not brown, but do NOT cook longer than ten minutes.)

5.  Let cool, on the sheet, for five minutes.  Remove from baking sheet and let cool completely.  Makes 3 dozen.

This Weekend:

* Our weekend actually began on Thursday.
Joe took the day off work to head up to our Stake Pioneer Trek with me...

A 'Pioneer Trek' is basically when the youth of our church dress and live like pioneers for 4 days and 3 nights.

They pull handcarts, sleep on the ground, cook their own food, etc....all to hopefully catch a small glimpse as to what their ancestors did for them.

When these sweet kids {350+!} rolled into their camp on Thursday, I was literally a sobbing mess!!!

Where on earth do you find kids that would give up part of their spring break to do this??? And guess what....they were SMILING! I still can't even wrap my brain around it because let me tell you - - Joe and I were there for ONE day and we were completely pooped by the time we drove home and got into our comfy beds.

I was so moved by being apart of this experience for such a short moment.

Did I mention that they were in the middle of the desert, too?
With rattlesnakes?!?!

{Side note: I used to think that the desert was so blah and ugly. I LOVE the desert now.  Like, with all my heart.}

Downside of being outside all day when bushes and trees are in full bloom?  I woke up on Friday looking like this...

No joke.
I sent this pic to Joe while he was at work, telling him it was exactly how I felt. I could barely breathe!!!! And when I did - - I sneezed! It was not a pretty sight.

London and I snuck out real quick to grab some groceries and donuts...
{I prayed that I wouldn't run into anyone I knew with how I looked!}...

London's usual: A donut with sprinkles, a Sunny D and a side of sausage from my breakfast sandwich.

 We spent the rest of the day at home, on our couches, watching 'Moana' and doing absolutely nothing.

I managed to scrape together my favorite St. Patrick's Day meal.....

...of Bangers and Mash.
{Have you had it? It's my fave!!!}

Usually we go HERE for it on St. Patty's Day but since I wasn't feelin so hot, we stayed in and I tried my hand at it.

* Saturday we dropped London off at a birthday party and the boys and I went out to lunch HERE.

London attended my cute niece's MOANA themed birthday party....

...and can you even STAND how cute those headbands are??? My talented sister-in-law MADE them!!!!

I wish you could see it in person.
It's SO adorable!

* Date night Saturday night HERE with one of our favorite couples.

This is such a fun place if you've never been.
We ate inside and their salad bar >>> everywhere else.

* Churchey-church on Sunday.
We napped afterwards and grilled T-bone steaks for dinner.

Cubby thought he had won the lottery when we gave him one of our bones. {Side note: Cubby is now 20 pounds!!! Holy cow. He is growing SO fast!}

I baked banana chocolate chip bread for dessert...

And we ended the evening together watching AFV.

Spring Break week 2 is up this week:

* Hoping to turn off the a/c - - it's been SO HOT HERE!

* Hoping to take the kids to see 'Beauty and the Beast' - - have you seen it yet?

* Taking London to the American Girl Doll store for lunch.
We've never been.
I may be as excited as she is.

Springtime with Carters.

This post is sponsored by Kohl’s. I was paid for this post and received the included Carter’s clothing as compensation.

Holy Moly.
How is it already March?
Spring is upon us and I don't know about you but I am ready and excited!

I love it when the kids can play outside, we can open up the windows in our home and the days stretch out a little longer.

We cherish these days because once the 100+ degree  weather hits in May...we hibernate here in Arizona.

{Most hibernate in the winter...we hibernate in the summer.}

Our family goes all out on spring clothes shopping.
Well, because we can wear these clothes pretty much ALL YEAR LONG here.

London and I had SO much fun with our latest shopping trip to Kohls.  She LOVED picking out everything from dresses, to shorts, to long flowing nightgowns.

The color pink is London's jam and if you pair that color up with has me all googly eyed.

THIS dress is one of her new faves and it's puppy approved by Cubby.

Picking oranges and being kind {and cool!} should be at the top of everyone's list this spring don't ya think?

Plus every little girl needs a soft flowy skirt like THIS one.

Can you even stand these fun bright colors?

THIS dress went perfectly alongside of a chocolate sprinkled donut 😛 Have I mentioned how durable and easy to wash these clothes are? It's actually one of my favorite things about the Carter's brand.

Fresh painted nails are a MUST for springtime.
And so is being HAPPY!

Be Happy shirt HERE

I can't get enough of the aztec pattern this season.

Both London and I fell in love with THIS dress as soon as we saw it.

Carter's clothes are perfect for ANY activity.
Jumping, riding your scooter, going to school...
their clothes really do withhold the test of time.

Good news blog readers!

If you shop Carter's clothes at Kohls between 3/17 - 4/2 you can receive $10 off a $40 purchase with promo code KIDSALE10.

Which is bascially PERFECT because your sweet little kiddies are going to need new Easter outfits, right?

Great to Be 8 Baptism Party.

Last weekend we hosted a little GREAT to be EIGHT baptism party for London, back at our house after the services.

I knew just a few things that I wanted go accomplish with this party:

1. I wanted it to showcase London! {which I did by displaying photos of her everywhere}

2. I wanted desserts only {her baptism was at a weird time which ruled out a brunch of lunch type or thing}

3. I wanted the colors and printables to be PINK and feminine.

Here's what I came up with:

I made an 8x10 printable sign that sorta went along with the whole 'sweet treat' theme. I placed it on the middle of our dessert bar.

I love music - - especially primary music! - - and I had the grandiose idea of coming up with a 'Primary song title' for each of our desserts.

 I also created 2 inch circles that said either 'I Am a Child of God' or '8' and I placed them on some of my truffle sticks - - these could also be used as cupcake toppers.

Bytheway: Fluff = Cotton Candy

Hands down my favorite food card was:
"I Stand All Amazed {at this} Chocolate Cake

I am such a dork.

But seriously.
Have you tried my mom's chocolate cake?

I also created 2 - 8x10 printables to frame - -
1 that says 'I Am a Child of God' and
1 {not pictured} that says 'I'm a Mormon, I Know it, I Live it, I Love it'.

As for the tables where people sat to eat, I ran pink wrapping paper right across them and added paper ribbon, milk glass vases with flowers and $1 Ikea frames with pictures.

London was pleased as punch with the outcome, as were we. It was such a beautiful afternoon spent with friends and family.

And good news: if you'd like to throw your own sweet litlte one a GREAT TO BE EIGHT party...I'm offering ALL of these printables in my Etsy shop now HERE!

Just download and print and you're good to go!

Can you even?!?
