This {Memorial Day} Weekend:

* Friday morning was our kiddos elementary school talent show.

London did a lyrical dance with her bestie.
They made the entire thing up themselves and it was oh so sweet.

Carson and his buddy from the Boyz Crew did a hip hop performance and they rocked it.

Watching my children perform...doing something that they LOVE to do...might just be my favorite thing ever!

Also: how cute is our front desk lady??
She was part of the Taylor Swift 'Welcome to New York' act.

Don't you just love it?
{Seriously...we have THE BEST community!}

* Afterwards, I ran errands for the weekend which included a stop at my very favorite place to buy tortillas.

Locals: It's on Power and San Tan Blvd. and it looks totally sketchy on the outside {ok AND on the inside} BUT....

...these tortillas are FRESH and LEGIT and now I won't buy them from anywhere else!

* We tried a new {to us} burger joint for date night in Tempe.

Joe and I split the Hatch Burger and it was dreamy!
As was their fries and all of their dipping sauces.

Dessert afterwards at Slickables.

I've tried a few different ice-cream sandwich shops and this one is my fave.

The cookies are SOFT, the mint choc chip is exactly the way I like it! AND.....they're only $2.50! It's a bargain.

* Saturday morning breakfast at the McDs.

I had to laugh.
These kids + their grandparents were ALL on their electronic devices the ENTIRE time we sat next to them.

Sad.  And funny at the same time.

{Also: this is one of my pet peeves.}

* We had some of our favorite peeps over Saturday night for dinner and so the rest of the day was spent whipping up some of my favorite Mexican food for them.

We had such a great time with them.
We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends in our lives.

* Churchey-church on Sunday.
No meetings for either Joe or I all day and it was SO nice to be able to come home and relax the rest of the day.

We ate leftovers from the mexcian fiesta...Joe and London tried a new recipe for cookies...

And I started making candy lei's for Carson's 6th grade class.

Carson's cute teacher wanted to make one for each of her students since our school does a 'clap out' for all of the 6th graders on the last day of school.

Since I know how very busy teachers are this time of the year I volunteered to do them for her!
{We 💜 our teachers!!}

* On Memorial Day Monday:

- London went to a swim party at her friend's house

- Joe and the boys went to see the new Star Wars movie
{Fun Fact: I've never seen ONE! SW movie in my life.}

- And I spent the morning over at my Mom and Dad's house typing up old love letters from my Grandpa Lamoreaux to my Grandma while he was serving in WW2.

There are HUNDREDS of these sweet things and I am having the BEST time going thru them with my mom.

Our hope is to type every single one of them up so that then we can compile them into a book for whoever wants one for family history purposes.

Journals, old letters from my grandparents and ancestors...I cannot get enough of. I feel such a sense of connection to them when I read their words in their own handwriting.  There's something so neat about it I just can't explain it.

* * * * * * * * * * *

Yup - - summer is ALMOST here!
The kiddies are out on Wednesday and then we've got some FUN things up our sleeves.

2fer Tuesday {on Thursday}.

If you're a TRUE CRIME lover like myself...you have GOT to watch this 4 part docu-series on Netflix!

Anyone remember the pizza bomber who robbed a bank back in 2003? This is what it's about!!

Big huge thanks to my SIL who recommended it to Joe and I.
She also warned me that in the first 15 minutes of the first episode - - it shows the pizza bomber's head being blown off - - so luckily I knew to close my eyes.
{Because gory stuff and me do not go together!}

This show really is fascinating.
It's like a Dateline x 1000.

So dee-lish.

I made up some tuna fish this week and dipped these chips into it and it was SO good!  Didn't even taste healthy-ish.😂

Just when I think there couldn't be any more garbage floating around on social media...I see quotes like this and am reminded that social media can IN FACT be used for good!

This Weekend {+ a really good way to make ribs!}:

* Friday morning started out here...

The trees on the grounds are in full bloom and it was such a pretty sight to walk out to once I had finished.

* Errands + odds and ends afterwards.

I've had 'clean my bathroom' on my to-do list for over 2 weeks now and for some reason..it just never seems to get done. Why do 'odds and ends' always take priority?😂

Anyone else with me?

* Date night Friday night at one of our

Their pizza muffins are where it's at.
{Also...my husband is the best sport for always allowing me to take pics of him whenever//wherever//doing whatever}.

* We visited our sweet nephew at the hospital afterwards who was recovering from appendicits.

So grateful for such good hospitals and medical professionals around us but man, it's HARD going into those childrens units and seeing the sick kiddies!!

* Dateline afterwards, because duh! Friday night.
I know, I know, we're super exciting.
{But seriously...if you're a Dateline lover like we are...you have GOT to see Bill Hader do his impressions HERE.}

* Saturday was London's 3rd grade class POOL PARTY!

Her sweet 3rd grade teacher {who the boys have been fortunate to have as well!} has a tradition of having all of her students over to her house at the end of the year.

Isn't that the BEST THING EVER?
{Seriously...bless her heart!}

We left with sunburns and bellies full - all signs of a good time!

* Saturday night we stayed in and it was so relaxing.
I was showered and in my jammies by 5:00.
{Don't be jelly}.

We had our first 'summer' meal of the season.

Ribs, baked potatoes and fresh corn on the cob.
It was pretty heavenly.

Lemme let you in on a secret of how to cook your ribs....

Put them in the crockpot and salt and pepper them generously.

Add about a cup {or maybe a tad more} of apple juice to the bottom of the crock pot and cook on high all day.

Before you are ready to eat, take the ribs out and put them on a tin foil lined baking sheet.  Baste those babies with some Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce and then put under the broiler in your oven for about 5 minutes.

THEY ARE DIVINE this way!!!
I promise.

We don't cook em any other way now and they really do just fall off of the bone.

* Churchey-church on Sunday.

* Lam Fam dinner at my parent's house Sunday night.

My cute nephew and his even cuter wife were in town and we had so much fun visiting with them.

Joe was the designated 'griller' of the night and the burgers were off the charts yummy!

Such a fun time all together!
Loud...but FUN!

Fun Finds Friday.

Fry's {our local Kroger grocery store} has some super cute stuff in their summer section.

If making homemade ice-cream is your thing {well, then why aren't you bringing me any?}....these containers are just what you need!! They come in large and small sizes and they'd be PERFECT for delivering to neighbors or for bringing along to a BBQ.

These wooden spoons and sprinkled straws would be the perfect little extra touch. {Think Rootbeer floats}.

Fun Fact: I'd rather eat my own toenails than drink Rootbeer.
That's how much I loathe it.

Throwing a SUMMER shin-dig?
They've got this cute garland, as well!

Over at the Dollar Tree...

You need to stock up NOW for all of your Memorial Day // 4th of July get togethers.  LOVING those hot dog holders!

Cute patriotic ice-cream cups here, too!

Is there a MERMAID lover in your life?

Aren't these fingernail clippers DARLING?
{Spotted em at the checkout register}.

Also....if you aren't buying your doggie toys and treats from the $ tree then you are really missing out {and spending way too much money elsewhere}.

These are Cubby's FAVORITE!!!!!!

* Finally browsed thru Wal-mart today.
{It had been awhile.}

Aren't these pineapple glasses SO SUPER CUTE?
They'd be perf for a Hawaiian Luau.

But even cute than those?......

Look closely.
These are CACTUS jars!!!!!
I feel like I need at least 4 in my life.

Ok this next one is a WTH find....

Toot Fairy?

What is this?????

Lastly, I'll let you in on a tip....

Wendy's now serves the MOST DELICIOUS soft baked cookies EVER.  It's true.  They have: chocolate chip, sugar and chocolate chocolate.

You can get 3 for $3 and lemme tell you...they hit the spot!
{Every once in awhile I veer away from the McDs Diet Coke and I crave a Wendy's Diet Coke.}

End of the Year Student // Teacher Treats // Gifts.

Teacher friends!!

I know you're wanting to give your little kiddies an end of the year treat and guess what? I've gotcha covered!!

I offer 2 different tags as part of my STUDENT TREAT PRINTABLES set HERE.

One - you can attach to any sweet treat!

The other - you can attach a few big gumballs.
{Gumballs found at the $ store and then I placed them in a pretzel sized cellophane bag found at Hobby Lobby or Michaels}.

Simple pimple.

Now, who's counting down the days until the last day of school???

2fer Tuesday.

I was curious.
Most of these new OREO flavors skeeve me out BUT....Joe and I do love a good batch of kettle corn.

These weren't all that bad.
That said...I could only eat 1 because they're a lot.

London said they tasted like Halloween.
Her friend said they tasted like waffles.

I agree to both.
They're yummy.

{Also...what the heck is a 'puffed millet piece'???}

My sis-in-law made this yummy fruit salad awhile ago and it was SO good.

Now....I don't love cottage cheese.  BUT...I loved this salad.  It's a very refreshing salad and perfect for the summertime.
The cottage cheese just gives it a little extra texture and it's relish!

{Fun Fact: We feed our dog cottage cheese because it makes his farts not stink.  True story.}

I really need to memorize this.

Happy Tuesday!
