2fer Tuesday.

2 SHOWS I WANNA WATCH:

If I'm being honest, my very favorite time of the day is when the kids go to bed at night and Joe and I sit ourselves on the couch and watch shows together.  Usually, there are snacks and always, there are Diet caffeinated beverages invovled.

It's sorta our thing and I love it.
{Aren't we so wild and crazy?😂}

Since Dirty John and R. Kelly are finished...here's what I wanna watch next.

Image

This one is a 6 part True Crime docuseries based off of John Grisham's only non-fiction book that he's ever written.

Cannot wait.

Image

I know, I know...we are like super late to this bandwagon.
I've heard it's hilarious.
{Plus we LOVE Andy Samberg}.
Who's seen it and LOVES it?

2 RECIPES I'VE TRIED THIS WEEK AND RECOMMEND:

Who else had a New Year's resolution of trying new recipes this year?  And bonus if those new recipes are actually HEALTHY! I found a couple online, gave em a whirl and here's what I thought...

Image

After I made the dressing for this one and before I put it on the salad I was nervous because the dressing does NOT smell good.  The sesame oil also made me nervous so I only used 1 tsp.instead of 2.

I also used regular sesame seeds instead of black and I didn't toast my almonds. I also omitted the sesame seed sticks.

Oh - and I added chopped cucumbers because I add those to EVERYTHING.

The chicken and cranberries are a must and this salad was a WIN!!! Loved the salty // sweet combo.
So so yummy!

Image

Don't let the 'Eazy Peazy' part fool you.
There were A LOT of steps to this meal.

And yes, I made it for dinner for the whole family rather then food prepping it all for lunches.

Verdict:
Chicken was yummy!

Tzatziki sauce was yummy!
I would blend the sauce all together next time instead of just stirring so the cucumbers can really get crushed up.

Cucumber salad was a little strong for my taste.

My kids gobbled the chicken which is always a good sign.

I dipped crackers into the tzatziki sauce and that made it a yummy snack, too!

This Weekend:

* Friday I met a friend for lunch at Local Eats.
They've recently re-done their menu and I was curious to try it out...

Their carne asada tacos were AH-mazing!!!!
Like...I keep thinking about them amazing.

* Ran a couple of errands.
I finally felt good enough to go to Goodwill.
{That's how I knew I was sick last week.
No desire whatsoever to thrift shop.}

😂😂😂😂😂
I cannot get enough of the the books I find there.
{Do you follow my stories on IG?}

* Friday night the kids had dance and then had friends over. Joe and I were forced upstairs to our bedroom to watch TV and get outta the way.  {Seriously...how do we have kids old enough to do this to us?}

We finished the R. Kelly docu-series.
Gah.
I can't believe he's not in jail.

* Saturday we had the kids clean out my car....

Anyone else have kids that feel like it's ok to just leave dirty socks, candy wrappers, old french fries, etc. in every crevice of their car?

No? Just mine? Awesome.

*Afterwards we took the boys to see...

Image
I had no idea this movie was based on a true story!
We LOVED it!!!!
Super cute.

* Saturday night we all stayed in and I tried a new recipe for dinner.

My photo doesn't do it justice.
IT WAS DEE-LISH.

I was a little nervous too, because the dressing did NOT smell dee-lish.
{I added chopped cucumbers and did only 1 tsp. of sesame oil instead of 2}.

* Churchey-church on Sunday.
I haven't been able to enjoy the 2 hour time change yet because it's been ward conferences in our stake and as part of my calling we get to visit the other wards. {It's actually one of my favorite parts of my calling}.

We visited 2 yesterday {one was my home ward} and do you ever have those Sundays where you just tear up the second you start singing the opening song in Sacrament Meeting?

That was me yesterday.
So many good feels at church yesterday.
I felt like my canteen had been filled.

Fun Finds Friday.

Valentines decor is {almost} out everywhere and it makes me so happy.  I always feel like it's the perfect pick-me-up after putting away all of your Christmas decor.

I ran in and out of Hobby Lobby this past week in about 2.2 seconds but it was just enough time for me to spot this adorable Valentines cactus.  $3.99 with 40% off!

Over at Wal-mart...

Why does this gross me out so much?
That's a WHOLE lotta gummy.

I LOVE this idea!
Think 'gingerbread houses' for February.

This wreath!!!!
I spotted it at the Wal-mart up in Idaho and was sooo bummed to go to my local Wal-mart back here in AZ and see NONE in stock! I'll be checking back daily.

These cute little paper trucks would be SUPER cute to fill up with candies and give to someone.

Lastly...these white, dotted canisters.
Aren't they cute?

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

2fer Tuesday {on Wednesday}.

2 SHOWS I CAN'T GET ENOUGH
OF RIGHT NOW:

Image

If you have not been watching DIRTY JOHN....you really need to start. There is only one episode left and although I already know this whole story from watching a Dateline on it a couple of years ago....I have been on the edge of my seat!!!

The acting is SO good.
And for those of you watching....how much do we LOVE Connie Britton?

Someone told me I NEED to watch FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS with her in it.  I might just start that next.

Image

Oh.my.gosh.

While Ignition will always be one of my 90s faves....this guy is NOT! The stories from these women are unbelievable.

 I am shocked that R. Kelly is not in jail.

Joe and I have been watching an episode every night since I got home from my trip and we are hooked.

2 FOOD REVIEWS:

Yes! Yes! Gimme some more...YES!

Image

Eh.
Carson picked these out this week at the grocery store and I tried just one and it was just bleh.

Carson didn't even finish his bowl today with milk.
{Clear indicator 👎}

January Ministering Tags.

Good News!
I'm back!!!

Thank you for your patience for those of you who have been checking my blog to see if I've posted my new MINISTERING tags for the month of January.

Last month was the first month in at least 3 years that I missed a month.

December sorta kicked my booty.
I had Etsy orders up the wazoo {thankful!}, I got sick right before Christmas....then all of the Christmas festivities...then our roadtrip to Rexburg, Idaho.

I apologize for having missed last month for those of you who download them each month.  I am SO grateful that you come back each month and enjoy the things I create.

THANK YOU THANK YOU!

If you're a long time reader of my blog....I have to apologize again though.  I am totally copying my tags from last January.  But....dont worry...I've changed out the 2018 for 2019 so they're still totally use-able.

I promise to never EVER do this again.
Like EVER.

It's just...the night I got home from our Rexburg trip, I caught a cold {didn't help that my sister had one on our trip.} I've been sluggish ever since returning and I just wanted to be able to offer you SOMETHING to get going this month.

{Plus...can you ever really give away too many Reese's? They are in fact my FAVORITE candybar of all time.}

Plus....with the changes from Visiting Teaching to Ministering...chances are....you probably see new sisters now, right? So they won't even know 😜

And HAPPY JANUARY!!!
I've got LOTS of fun stuff up my sleeve and I can't wait to share it all with you!

Road Trip {Randomness} Day 4.

Our last and final day in Rexburg, Idaho!

First things first, we went back to the 'Home of the Redneck Soda' and I discovered another gem....

Seriously.  This places kills me! 😂
{And no, I didn't get the Duck Fart.  I'm so boring when it comes to sodas and always just get a straight up Diet Coke or Diet Dr. Pepper.  Extra ice.}

We went back to the University bookstore.
I picked out shirts for my kids.

Why do I love this coin purse so much?
I shoulda bought it.

We toured around the town of Rexburg afterwards...

The {new to me} temple there is GORGEOUS!

Found my old apartment complex.
Lived here for 2 years and loved every minute of it!

For lunch, per recommendation from a friend, we tried
 'The Taco Bus.'

You guys!!!!!!!!
This is literally a school bus turned into a taco bus and it looked and felt TOTALLY sketchy.

How cute are my nephew and his wife?

THIS PLACE WAS SOOOOO GOOD!
I'm not even lying.
I would eat there again in a heartbeat.
{My sis on the other hand was so skeeved out she didn't even order anything.  Wimp!}

We stopped by a local park that has always given me the giggles. {Yes, I have the brain of a 12 year old.}

I mean COME ON!!!!
Who names a park this???

We ended the evening at local dairy - - per recommendation - - and it did NOT disappoint!

All of their ice-cream is handmade right there at the dairy and their Mint Madness was where it was at!

{Also: Fun Fact .... apparently they put potato flakes in their chocolate milk and it is supposed to be INCREDIBLY yummy.  Next time for sure!}
😉

Road Trip {Randomness} Day 3.

Day 3 we woke up in Rexburg.

And froze.

{Yes I went out looking like the kid from 'A Christmas Story'.  No, my nephew wouldn't be caught dead looking like that outside of the hotel 😂}.

*First things first, I needed a Diet Coke.

We stumbled upon the 'Home of the Redneck Soda' and
you know I couldn't pass that up!

I mean come on!!!

They had drinks called "Victoria's Not So Secret"
 and "Smelly Armpit".

We died.
😂😂😂

We got my nephew moved into his apartment and all set up and then headed for a Wal-Mart run.

The Wal-Mart in Rexburg, Idaho during 'move-in' weekend is no joke.  I have NEVER seen lines longer.
Wall to wall people.

Finally a motto I can get behind!

* We headed onto campus that afternoon and I was sooooo excited to see that while most of Rexburg has changed....some things have {somewhat} stayed the same.

The Jacob Spori building will always hold a special place in my heart.  This is where I had my very first experience ever working on a radio station. {KWBH!}

The bowling alley is still in the Student Center!
{My only A grade my Freshman year 😳}

President Bennion was the college president while I was there for one year followed by Elder David A. Bednar for the second.

The mint chocolate brownies at the food court were no joke.
Soooooo good!

Soooooo happy to see that they had a cute little section tucked away in the bookstore dedicated to Ricks College.

* We ended the day with dinner at Millhollow Frozen Yogurt.

Back in the day this place had THE BEST sandwiches and I was giddy to know that it was still there {and they were still just as good!}

{Also still there? I'm pretty sure the same wallpaper and decorations circa 1996.😂}

* We discovered that there was another little cookie joint in town and we figured that we better compare it to the one we tried in Provo so.....

Yes we did!
And this place wins!!!!!
