I'm back {sorta!}

 THANK YOU to everyone who has messaged, text, commented, called, brought in food....etc, etc this past week!

It has been SUCH a blessing to our family and we are OH SO GRATEFUL!!

Things are slowly getting back to normal around here.

For those of you that don't follow me on IG, here's a quick run down of how things have been going...

I had my surgery last Tuesday.

I haven't put on make-up or a bra for that matter since this pic was taken right before surgery.
We got all checked in Tuesday morning and the waiting room felt a bit like the scene in Zootopia where the Sloth works the front desk.  Anyone remember that?

Anyhoo, it was a lot of hurry up and then wait time.

Joe and I laughed at dumb stuff while waiting
which is good because I do believe that laughter is THE BEST medicine of all.

I started getting nervous while I was waiting for everything to go down and started asking Joe silly questions like....

I'm sure it's happened to someone before, right?
But wouldn't you just DIE!!!

Joe finally had enough of my irritable questions and had to take his own meds just to get through the day.
Totally not kidding.

The surgery lasted about 2 1/2 hours.
I don't remember a thing excpet for the nurses trying to wake me up in post-op with ice chips.

Everything went great!

They took out my uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes.....tightened up all of my ligaments down there, tended to my rectocele and put in a bladder sling.
{Pretty dandy for just 2 1/2 hours, right?}

The pain however aftewards was unbearable.
That first night in the hospital was pretty bad.

Imagine the WORST menstural cramps you've ever had + the WORST labor pains you've ever had and then mix that all with the WORST gas pains you've ever had.

That's what I was feeling once everything wore off.

All I could do was cry.
And I was OH SO SORE down there.

They tried to get me up to walk a few times that evening but each time I'd try and get up, my blood pressue would tank and I felt like I was going to pass out.

It wasn't pretty.

They FINALLY got some pain meds to work and the following day before I was discharged, I was able to get up and walk around the nurses station. Thankfully!!

I got home Wednesday afternoon.
Cubby was waiting patiently for me...

My mom played the role of Mary Poppins while I was gone and had the house cleaned, the kids taken care of and fed and my laundry all done.

The only bummer about coming home was that I had to wear a catheter home.  And keep it in until Friday.

I think normally they don't make you do this but since I had the bladder surgery on top of the hysterectomy, it was mandatory.

Catheters are no fun.
I was MORE than ready to take it out {ew!} on Friday.

Things since then have been slow moving....but they're moving!!

Each day gets a little bit better.

Many have asked what it feels like and if I'm being completely honest {you know I always am!} it feels as though I've been hit with a baseball bat right below my stomach.

I still can't sit straight up and either have to be standing or laying down.  The doctor said she put 70 stitches in me 😱 but like I said, I'm making progress every day.

I haven't been outside since I came home last Wednesday.
{Not that I'm complaining though since
 it's been 110 degrees outside!}

The fact that I can't really do anything hasn't really bothered me YET because all I've wanted to do was sleep and lay around.  I've had zero energy and sort of just feel like all of the wind has been knocked out of me.

I suppose that will get better as this week goes on.

Staying down will be hard for me as I am not one to sit still for too long.  I'm the type of person that HAS to get out of the house at least once or twice a day so we'll see how this goes.
I've been told by MANY of you {including my doctors and nurses} that I need to take it easy and not over-do it or I won't get very far with the whole recovery process.

So that's what I plan to do now.

Watch Netflix.
Post new items in my Etsy shop on my laptop {because I thought ahead and already took the pics!}

And rest some more.

As long as I've got my family by my side and my cold Diet Dr. Pepper next to me...I can do it, right?

Oh and one last husband really has been the best.  He's changed my catheter and waited on me hand and foot all while playing Mr. Mom and Working Dad.

I love him.
Even if I am the reason he has to take his meds.

This Weekend:

* Friday morning we loaded up on our Friday Fuel!

Donuts and caffeine...their teachers probs don't mind, right?

* Ran my Friday errands which included a stop at Marshall's.
They have their Halloween stuff out!!!

Their seasonal stuff is always THE CUTEST!!!

Made a quick stop at Costco afterwards.
{Yup, still loathe that place.}

* Rewarded myself since I made it through the whole store in less than 20 minutes with a Crumbl cookie afterwards!

I got the Peanut Butter Bar cookie and I'm not gonna lie...I didn't love it.  Which is shocking because I LOVE peanut butter and I LOVE chocolate and I LOVE Crumbl.
This one was just too much.

* Back at home I worked on a slew of new items for my Etsy shop that I'm SO excited to share with everyone soon!

I'm adding DOGGIE ornaments to the shop this year!!!

* Friday night we laid low, ordered pizza and I snuck out around 8:00 pm with some of my dearest girlfriends for a soda run.

* Saturday morning we all slept in and then our cute nieces came over for a playdate with London.

First thing on her list that she wanted to to do with the girls?
Go to Circle K of course.
{Doesn't take much to make my kids happy 😆}

The kids played, Joe and I got stuff done around the house and then Saturday night we snuck out for a quick Texas Roadhouse date.

* Afterwards, I headed over to our church building and hung up a special little bulletin board for our ward.

Have you seen THIS video?
It's near and dear to my heart and I do hope you'll watch it.  It's only 3 minutes and it's something good for EVERYONE.

* Churchey-church on Sunday.

3 of the darling teenagers in our ward came up to me before church started and pointed out that we ALL had the SAME shoes on.  How fun is that?
{I guess I'm not totally out of style yet 😅}

* Sunday night we had a family dinner over at Joe's parents house.  My sis and bro-in-law recently just got to go the Taco Bell Resort in Palm Springs and it was SO fun to hear all about their experience there.

Yes...the resort even offered Taco Bell fades.
{We died!!!😂😂😂}

They even brought us different flavors of
 Taco Bell chips to try!

 The mild was too spicy for me so I said no to the Diablo flavor. 😉

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
I'm taking some time off from blogging this week.
I head into the hospital on Tuesday for some surgery.

All is well but because I'm a pretty open book - I'll let you know why.  I'm having a hysterectomy with some extra work done down there.  They'll take everything out but my ovaries, repair some damage done from my big, beautiful babies and I'll then be getting a bladder sling put in so that I don't pee my pants anymore when I cough, laugh, sneeze, jump...etc, etc.

Pretty much everything of mine down there is prolapsed.
So that's been fun!

Recovery will be awhile.

The good news is that I'll be laying around A LOT which means lots of time on my laptop and LOTS of fun new ideas on my blog.

So....there's that!

I will most likely be posting updates on my Instagram stories this week so if you'd like to follow along my journey - be sure to head over there and follow @azmarci.

Fun Finds Friday.

Wal-mart has THE CUTEST Pioneer Woman stuff right now.

I tried to think of every reason in the book why I needed this melamine cake stand....

And look! Matching scalloped PAPER plates!!!!

Over at Hobby Lobby I FINALLY ventured over into the fall aisles....

Aren't those beads adorable for Halloween?

The cutest take away containers for all of your Thanksgiving guests!!

More beads! This time on metal pumpkins.

Especially loved these lemon recipe cards...

And then yes...I am still truly, madly, deeply in love with allllll the buffalo check.

Lastly...I found a new item at Sprouts that I HAVE to share with you...

Go and get yourself some of this flatbread ASAP.
It was SOOOO super yummy!
Makes the greatest sandwiches!!

August Ministering // Friendship Handouts.

Holy moly!
It's already the 7th of the month and I have yet to post a new MINISTERING//FRIENDSHIP tag for you to brighten someone's day with!

I've been running around like a chicken with it's head cut off lately.  Life will slow down soon but until then, there's LOTS to get done!

Because of that, I'm sharing a tag that I used last year...
I hope you don't mind...

Because who doesn't love fresh cherries?
{Plus, they're like on sale EVERYWHERE right now!}

Fill a basket up with cherries, attach this tag and your friends will feel loved forever.  Ok, maybe not forever...but you'll for sure be their favorite at least for awhile.

You don't even really NEED fresh cherries, per say.

You could also use:

- A bottle of CHERRY 7-UP
- CHERRY blossom hand lotion
- Chocolate covered CHERRIES
{They have these at the $ store.  The good kind.}
- Stuff to make a CHERRY limeade
- - - - you get the jist, right?

Download my FREE cherry tags HERE.

This Weekend:

* Friday morning I met one of my dearest friends for breakfast at a new spot that just opened up right by our neighborhood.

Huge portions!
We both got the Eggs Benedict and it was DEE-lish!
{Would recommend!!}

* Afterwards, I ran some errands and spent the rest of the day back at home in my craft room working on custom orders.

I made the vinyl for these pots for a sweet friend who runs a pre-school.  She wanted to give each of her teachers one of these on their first day back to school.
 Isn't that the sweetest?

* Friday night date night.
We met one of Joe's favorite college roomates and his darling wife for dinner at Oregano's

The last time we saw them was 16 years ago and it's as though these two had spent no time apart!
Made us wish we lived closer to them, we had SUCH a fun time laughing with them!!

* Saturday morning London and I woke up at 5 AM (true story!) to make it to downtown Gilbert for a 6 AM photoshoot for London's dance group.

I must really love my daughter, huh?

Needless to say, I took a 4 hour nap when we returned and spent the rest of the day at home with the a/c blasted.
{It's been HOT, HOT, HOT here in AZ!)

* Churchey-church on Sunday.

The kids fought before church (typical) which meant that they had to give each other a full frontal hug and say they were sorry as well as 'I love you' to the other person.

Aren't Sunday mornings fun?

* After church I got to help out at our Bishop's Youth Devotional and Dessert.

Such a great time and I can't wait to share with you what it was all about!

* We rushed home, had dinner and then had all of the young single adults in our ward over for a little FHE and dessert.

Such a cute bunch of kids!

Joe's calling in our ward is to be an advisor over these kids. (And when I say 'kids'...they're actually not kids at all.  They're 18 and older and have all gradutated from high school).

We had such a fun time with them.
We tried explaining to them that these are some of the BEST YEARS OF THEIR LIFE and to enjoy it to the fullest.

Some are getting ready to leave on missions.
Some are headed out of state to college. be young again.
Brought back SO many memories for Joe and I.
