San Francisco - Day 3.

We began our last and final day in San Fran with breakfast at Chow's in Danville.
{I'm telling you - - Danville is where it's at! Such a charming little town}.

Their chicken sausage scramble was pretty much to die for.
{But what's up with restuarants not having 'fountain' drinks - - only canned beverages with a glass of ice? Is that a California thing?}

We headed over to the Oakland LDS Temple afterwards to walk around and ooh and ahh.

I mean...wouldn't you?!
This temple is GORGEOUS!!!

I had never been before and I was SO impressed!
Not to mention - - the view from up there....

It quickly earned a spot in my top 5 fave temples of all time.
{In case you're wondering ... the Washington, D.C.Temple is my #1}.

They even had roof top gardens!!!
It was pretty awesome.

The weather wasn't too shabby, either.

Californians --- I envy you!

So lucky that all of our husbands are SUCH good friends.

We walked around inside of their Visitors Center and I was AMAZED at all of their Book of Mormon's they had on display.  ANY and EVERY language you could think of!

So many languages I've never even HEARD of!

How cool is that?!

We drove around Berkely afterwards - - another charming little city!  The university was just starting back up for the fall and so the streets were all abuzz with co-eds.

Lunchtime was spent stuffing our faces at Zacahary's pizza.

Ummmm....yup! That's their pizza.
So deliciously TASTY!!!!!

Apparently, my husband was mid-bite when this photo was taken.  He was savoring the flavor, I'm sure of it.

Once they rolled us out - - we headed to the airport {sniff!} and we were on our way back home.

Found this little gem in my magazine on the flight - - -

A BIG HUGE THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to these 2 fine people......

Kody and Bec!

Bec and Kody organized our entire trip and were pretty much our official tour guides around the city.  Kody drove our 'Burb like it was nobody's business and we made it out alive!
{San Fran drivers are CRAZY!}

SUCH a fun time with SUCH special people.
Blessed, indeed.

San Francisco - Day 2.

Day 2 of our San Fran adventures brought us to the Golden Gate Bridge. On bikes.  Yup - - you heard me right - -

Such a GORGEOUS way to view the bridge AND the city.
It was exhilarating, really.

It was perfectly cloudy and 100% dreamy.

Happy to report that I only BIFFED it once - - and that was AFTER the bridge - - back in the city - - right before returning our bikes.  Darn trolley tracks.

Can you even stand how cool this photo by my friend Tiff is?

It was SUCH a tiring neat experience and one that I'm so glad to be able to say I've done!

Once we made it over the bridge, we rode our bikes down into the cutest little town ever - - SAUSALITO.

The streets were lined with shops, restaurants and the most darling {ginormous} houses built right into the hills.

Upon returning our bikes back in the city, a random limousine driver sensed that we needed help and offered us a ride up to Union Square. {And when I say 'offered' I mean - - he charged us $50.  But it sure was worth it after that LONG bike ride.}

LOVED Union Square!

Tiff and Dave
We made our way towards China Town and I LOVED looking at all of the cheap little rinkety items for sale in all of the smelly shops.

We ate dinner that night in Little Italy.

This place OOZES garlic.
And I LOVED it!

That right there is cloves of garlic.
It was called something like 'Garlic in a Bath' and you put it on your bread and kind of smushed it up as a spread.

It was DELISH!...

As was my 40 garlic clove chicken and
Joe and Jimmy's crabs.

Definitely a FUN restuarant to try.
Pricey - - but unique.

We walked our way on down to Ghiradelli square afterwards and awarded ourselves with sundaes to complete the day.

My DREAM sundae!

Mint chocolate chip ice-cream, warm hot fudge, warm brownie + almonds.

It was the perfect ending to another perfect day.

San Francisco - Day 1.

How is it that I'm JUST NOW making it to this city?!

Last weekend we flew over with 3 of our favorite couples {and then met another one of our favorite couples from Reno there!} and WE. HAD. A. BLAST.

What a gorgeous city!!!
I ate it right up.

So much to SEE and so much to DO!
I definitely wanna go back.

Our days were packed to the brim with sightseeing, walking, eating and laughing. In fact, I laughed so hard this weekend, my voice is weak. No joke.

Here's how our first day in the big city went down:

We reserved our tickets to tour Alcatraz a couple of months ahead of time.  SO glad we did this.

What a fascinating little island!

We nerd-ed it up with the rest of the people and took the headphone tour of it all.

Do it!

I learned SO MUCH!

These were the convict's cells.

Yup, we even got to go inside of one.

The view of the city was breathtaking.

After we ferry-ed back - we hit up Fisherman's Wharf for some Boudin's sourdough breadbowls.

Fun Fact: I am NOT a fan of seafood, however I LOVE clam chowder.  And this place did NOT disappoint.

So super yummy!

We walked down to Pier 39 afterwards....

...and as if we weren't full enough - - we just HAD to try Trish's mini donuts.
{Thank you Courtney D. for the recommendation!}

They melted right into our mouths.
SO good!

We saw the seals....

and then shopped around and found the
cutest little candy store.

Next up on our self guided tour was The Palace of Fine Arts.

Holy Moly!
If you have not yet visited this place - - I highly recommend it!

I want to bring my kiddos back and get our family pics taken here.  SO gorge.

Right by this spot is a cute little park and well, since we can't ever lay down on green lush grass in the summertime in AZ, we took advantage of it.

The clouds rolling by were pretty much amazing.

We hopped on in our Suburban afterwards and then headed over to the Sutro Baths.

Another lovely little spot that reminded me of how much I love the beach. a little hairy.
My hubby got sick.
Like....he needed to barf sick.

And ya know how I painstakingly find it funny when others trip or fall in front of me? {I know - - - I really do have a heart, I promise!} Well, I could not stop giggling when my husband darted out of the car to barf his brains out.

Happy to say it was just a few hour bout and he was back at it the next morning.  PHEW!

We ended the evening at the Prickly Pear in Danville, CA... {OMG - have you ever been to Danville?! I want to live there!}

With the largest taco salad of my life!

SUCH a FUN day.
