Blast from the Past #2.

My sweet little London turns THREE next month. {Gasp!} For her FIRST birthday we had a fun little CUPCAKE PARTY.  It was one of my most VERY FAVORITE parties I've thrown.  Every last detail was SO much fun to plan.

London's very own GIGANTIC cupcake!

She was, of course, decked out in cupcake attire.

We served:

Chocolate covered marshmallows.

Oreo Truffles.

Drink station included horn blowers and pink lemonade packets to mix into water.

...and we had a pinata.  Best pinata ever!  No bats required!  Each kid gets a turn pulling one of the strings and only one string pops it open!

As for the party favors:

Each kid got a Marshmallow Cupcake Pop to take home...

...and each adult got to take home a box filled with a gourmet cupcake to go!

 Lil Miss London was on cloud 9.

And so were we!

Blast from the Past #1.

I've been surfing through my OLD blog lately and I've realized 2 things.  Numero uno: I'm glad I finally made the switch to blogger.  And #2: I think it's time to share some of my very FAVORITE things from the past.  So...I'm featuring some oldies but goodies this week.  Things I've hosted, made or spotlighted from years past.

Up first....last year I hosted a baby shower with my mother in law for Joe's cute sister Jenny. She was pregnant with A GIRL! It was A LOT of fun and I can't believe that sweet baby June will almost be ONE now!

{London and June this past Christmas.  To say that London is obsessed with her cousin is....an  understatement!  Don't they look cute in their matching Christmas outfits?? BFFs for life.}

Time sure does fly.  Here are some of the party details:

I made this Baby Girl banner out of scrapbook paper and regular old alphabet letters from Hobby Lobby.  I painted them with glue and then coated them with silver glitter

My cute mother in law Marilyn and I in front of the spread.
Brunch was served.  My favorite meal of the day!

The menu included:

We served the fresh fruit in these little pink and polka dot baskets from the $ tree.  Package of 8 for a dollar...and yes...they have them in all colors.  Cute, no? Just make sure and line with parchment paper first.

If you've never tried these French Toast rolls...oh mercy...you are in for a treat.  Let me know if you need the recipe!

Drink Station

Water Bottles embellished with felt stickers from Michaels $ bins.

I stole this cute idea from my friend Kapri. You basically get a piece of floral styrofoam...cover it with fabric.  Then wrap your forks in napkins, tie with a bow and stick in a skewer.  Poke the skewer down through the styrofoam and there ya go!  I like it because it’s unique.

 As for the favors {because yes...every party needs them..}

At the shower I served my very favorite sugar cookies...my mom’s recipe!  I decided it would be fun to give the recipe away.  But giving just a recipe away is boring. It needed a little...shall we say....’sprinkle’ to it.  So after some research...I found the test tube vials online for 35 cents a piece.  Pink sprinkles were purchased on candy.com and the gal who made the invitations also made up these recipes for me.  At the top it reads “Thanks for SPRINKLING Jenny with SWEET love at her baby shower!”  Wa.Lah!  The white frame pictured above was an Ikea find for 97 cents.

It's been spring{ish} weather here lately.  80 degrees to be exact.  Which has got me swooning at all of the kids clothing stores with ideas of outfits for Ms. London for the new season.  Because well, she does Dress to Impress, ya know? {If I ever forget to put BOWS in her hair...she lets me know!} It's never TOO young to start learning about fashion, right?

Here are some of my favorite SWOONS:

{From The Childrens Place}

wild rose

{From Gymboree}

Baby Cupid

Heart Dress

{From Gap}

Not to mention....just about EVERY item in the little girls section at Target right now is AH-DOR-ABLE!!!

I love having a girl!
