Beachy-Beach Day 2.

Day 2 of our week long family va-cay took us to the beach.
One of my very favorite places on earth!

We started the morning out with breakfast at a new spot...

Bruxie came recommended from my brother-in-law and it did not disappoint.

All of their items are served as 'waffle sandwiches'.

Mine included country sausage, cheddar cheese and eggs.
Joe's included salmon {bleh} and I don't know what else.
{He lost me after the salmon part.}

We were both thoroughly impressed and it was a FUN new place to try!

{My only complaint? They didn't serve REAL soda. 'Sugared Colas' is what they call it. What the?! I opted for water.}

We headed on out to the beach for rest of the day.
Being there reminded me of my childhood and spending time HERE each summer with my family and our friends. Good memories indeed.  One's I want to create with my OWN kids now.

I taught my kids all sorts of new things at the beach.

#1 - How to build sand castles...

#2 - How to search for seashells
#3 - How to bury feet in the sand
and not to be forgotten
#4 - how to pee in the ocean.
{You're welcome Newport!}

London, in true diva form, refused however to try this new tactic.  It was a GOOD thing though because when we finally found a real restroom...she went #2. Phew!  Good thing she's so proper.

We took the ferry over to Balboa island...

Which is where I now someday have a dream of owning a summer home.
Somewhat like this cute one...

Isn't this the most charming place you've ever seen?
We rented a bicycle.
FAMILY style.

I was pooped after pedaling for only 2 minutes!
We were quite the sight to be seen...let's just say that.

Everything was fun and games until Joe ran over my toe.
{That's a story for a different post though}.
I do apologize to the citizens of Balboa for anything inappropriate that may have been shouted out of my mouth at this time.
Getting your toe smashed on HURTS! Do you blame me?!?

We ended our day with dinner by the ocean at a place called Great Mex.
It came highly recommended from the locals.
It was DEE-LISH too!
Their crispy tacos and salsa
were the bomb diggity.

Beach + Family = Best of Memories!
Can't wait to do it again soon.

'The Diz' - Day 1.

Disneyland Day 1 was a huge success.
I must say....the older my kids get...the MORE FUN it gets at this place.

London was officially 40" this time so she got to ride rides that she hasn't in the past.
She also didn't whine to be held in every line we waited in.

We went with 'Disney' character themed wardrobes for our first day.
{No...I did not wear mouse ears.}
This guy...however rocked this hat like it was nobody's business...

What posseses a grown man to wear a hat like this?
And be FOR REALS about it?

The boys met Captain Hook.

London rode Splash Mountain for the FIRST time EVER!

And although we all look deathly terrified....
We ALL wanted to ride it again!
{Including Joe who's face got cut out}.

Carson faced his fears of riding Indiana Jones.
{He LOVED it, of course!}

from the Little Red Wagon on Main Street.
Seriously...BEST EVER!
They practicaly melt in your mouth.
{Sure it's probably just the grease dripping in your mouth but whatever.}
They are GOOD!

I also treated myself to my FAVORITE ice-cream sundae EVER
from the Gibson Girl Parlor.
Mint Chocolate Chip ice-cream + hot fudge + whip cream + fresh waffle bowl.

We walked right onto my FAVORITE RIDE EVER!
{Which Joe sat out. Dizzy rides do not mix well with him.}

Luigi's Flying Tires
And we hit up all 3 rides over at our favorite spot in Cali Adventure.
Cars Land!

 We ended our day with dinner at the ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney.
{A family favorite!!!}

We were all SO tired we could barely walk back to our hotel.
A definite GOOD sign of having all the right kinds of FUN!

The little red fire truck directly below Walt Disney's apartment on Main Street USA.

This pic just reminds me that my kids are growing up all too fast.

This Weekend:

*Friday morning Joe took the boys {and their cute friends!} to
Donuts for Dudes at their school.

LOVE that the school does this...the boys look forward to it each year!

* Ran errands all day long preparing for our trip!

* Friday night we celebrated one of my most FAVORITE friends' birthdays...

Rachel and I - Girls Camp 2012
...with dinner HERE and a fun filled Elders Quorum GAME NIGHT at the church afterwards.

Oh yeah..and my friend and I decorated her car the night before with classy sayings like this.

* Another Saturday Basketball game for the boys.

Grant scored THREE baskets and BOTH the boys earned the game day medals.
Plus...they WON and are still undefeated!

Out of ALL of the sports these boys have
{Baseball?  Not so much.}

* Ran around like a mad woman on Saturday afternoon {again} getting ready for our trip.
Between laundry, packing clothes, packing treats, packing things for the kids to do in the car....
Good thing they're SO worth it!

*Saturday night ASU game.
Go Sundevils!!!

Joe and Carson went and.....they WON!
Fear the Fork!!!

* Churchey-Church on Sunday.

The kiddos had their annual Primary Program.
I teared up towards the end AS ALWAYS.
There's just something so sweet and pure about this program.

{Plus....I was trying to forget the fact that London
 a) refused to do her part and
 b) chewed through her cute necklace while she was sitting on the stand.

*As soon as that was over, we loaded up our car and headed straight towards.......

.....the Hap Hap HAPPIEST Place on Earth!
Tomorrow we do DAY 1 and we are beyond excited.

I do love car rides {call me crazy!} because I get to catch up on lots and lots of my favorite magazines.

Definitely going to replicate that Jack Skeleton white pumpkin this year....

....and most positively going to make myself some chevron and polka dot pumpkins as well.
Cannot wait!

 When I get home I'm also going to try....

....these Bacon Maple Cupcakes!?!?
{What the WHAT?}

My curiosity is getting the best of me on these and I MUST know if they are any good.
{You add crumbled bacon INTO the mix AND on top of the frosting.}
